Liberal Democrats, from the so-called party of tolerance, are attempting to regulate conservative talk radio out of business with the Fairness Doctrine and the Minority Ownership Doctrine.
Why would Democrats want to regulate or silence it? It’s like a gift from Heaven lately – they keep digging their own grave everytime they talk, I say more crazy conservatives on the radio, not less.
I have yet to see any such legislation introduced. It would be stupid anyway. What happens if Air America manages to attract a few dozen more listeners and stays in business?
The “fairness” of the current system is that everyone has an equal chance to capture market share. Currently, most people who listen to talk radio are conservatives – a tough market for liberals to capture.
No shit. I am constantly ripping on my conservative friends who listen to Rush and Bill O’. I’m like, “You listen to them for entertainment value I hope?” One response I got was, “Bill O’ says it like it is.” I just laughed, Mr. Historical Revisionist.
this is why it’s so important to teach critical thinking skills to our students. If you can’t separate opinion (I think you look like Barney Rubble) from fact (you’re a Barney Rubble-looking motherf***er), you have no business having an opinion of your own.
And Glenn Beck is the worst.
Bill O no longer has a radio show – he is stricting sticking to television now. I beleive Fred Thompson has take over his time slot, although the opinions haven’t really changed much – just the voice presenting them.
I’m not sure Glenn Beck is the worst – but that is only because there are so many of them that are equally shitty. Between Beck, Rush, Hannity, Thompson, and that Ingraham chick with the horrid voice….well it is tough to pick the worst among them since they are all shallow, transparent, hate and rage filled idiots.
The fact that people actually quote these people as if they are reporters or unbiased is what really disgusts me. If you want news, then listen to news… not opinion or talk radio.

He was quite possibly the dumbest candidate running for president last year. He made Palin look like a brain surgeon.
It wasn’t so much that he’s dumb, it’s that he made almost no effort to look like a serious candidate.
Dumb would have been Rudy Guiliani’s attempt to win it all by campaigning only in Florida. I suppose he hoped there’d be enough transplanted New Yorkers there to win him the state.
