“Gosh darn it, I’m good enough, and now I’m legal (maybe)”

Wire Services (Argus Leader)

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Supreme Court has ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state’s long-running Senate race.

The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.

Justices said Franken is entitled to the election certificate he needs to assume office. When Franken is sworn in, he’ll give Democrats a big enough majority to overcome Republican filibusters.

Coleman hasn’t ruled out seeking federal court intervention.

Wonder what Coleman will do?

  2. Coleman lost to a pro wrestler, barely beat a dead guy, and now lost to a SNL writer. My guess is he’s done running for public office.

  3. Yes…but Ted, we’re talking the People Republic of Minnesota, Land of 10,000 taxes and one of the bluer of the blue states. Franken squeaked in on Obama’s coattails and it won’t take long for him to make the complete ass of himself that we all know he’s capable of.

When this whole thing collapses with his swing vote being the final nail, he’ll be turned on as fast as they turned on Ventura.

I see a Liberal will finally be serving in Washington in the Democratic party. Obama is probably nervous.

  5. Sy, you need to learn to stay on topic. Your reply had nothing to do with my comment. I simply said considering Coleman’s record, he won’t run for public office again. I didn’t even mention Franken. Sy, unbunch your panties and calm down.

You also forgot to mention that Coleman might have pulled a Ted Stevens, and had his house remodeled by a campaign contributor.

Wait – is Franken now suddenly the GOP’s target for “most liberal”? I have a tough time keeping up on who in Washington is the most liberal in the eyes of the GOP… it seems to change daily.

Maybe they should give the guy a chance to actually vote on a few bills before making assumptions. I admit I know jack about Franken when it comes to his politics, but I do get personal pleasure of the fact that Bill O’Reilly hates him because Franken has made him look like a fool so many times.

Also, I did like the comment Franken made when he said something to the effect of he isn’t going to Washington to become the 60th Democratic Senator, but rather to become the 2nd Senator from Minnesota.

Granted actions speak louder than words, but he seems to be off on a good start. Of course he had eight months to refine that speech so maybe I shouldn’t be too impressed.

    Cost-

I think Bill Maher said it best the other day on CNN. The Republican Party is the Right to Far Right party and the Democratic Party is the right center to right party.

Even if Franken wouldn’t call himself a liberal, he is about 10 times more liberal then Obama.

  9. Costner on July 1, 2009 at 11:48 am said:

Well since the GOP tells me Obama is the most liberal President we have ever had and was the most liberal Senator we ever had, then Franken must hold the title of “uber-liberal elite grand master to the 3rd power squared” or somthing.

Did anyone else see the story about Ron Paul’s Federal Reserve Audit finally becoming poppular 20 some years too late?
Could it be a Paul/Palin ticket in 2012?

Fucking Stupid. I can sum up the audit in two words. We’re Fucked.

    How is the audit stupid?

Okay, it is not ‘stupid’ but I think we know the results. It’s kinda like reading the script of a movie, then going to see the movie. You know the ending already. Not sure what Ron Paul thinks he is going to find? More corruption? Yawn.
