Hamilton paid a guy so he could sleep with the guy’s wife. It was the ultimate reason he never ran for president. But, hey, he got his face on the ten spot.

I think the Republicans are going to have to replace Mr. Ensign here pretty soon;

Politico reported, per a Nevada political insider “that Ensign began an affair with a staffer several months after he separated from his wife. When Ensign reconciled with his wife, the source said, he gave the aide a severance package and parted ways. Sometime later, the source said, Ensign met with the husband of the woman involved and had what this source described as a positive encounter. But the source said that the man subsequently asked Ensign for a substantial sum of money — at which point Ensign decided to make the affair public.”

Maybe he should try to get the secretary of treasury job?

Now if Ironic Johnny can catch the top three other Republican leaders with their hands in the honey pot we might become the minority loser after all.

8 Thoughts on “Seems senator Ensign has an Alexander Hamilton problem

I don’t think what Ensign did was that big of a deal. He was separated from his wife before he got himself a girlfriend. The one and only true problem here is the girlfriend happened to be married, but that is really more her problem than his.

When he decided to reconcile with the wife he sent the girlfriend packing. For most of us that would mean she gets to keep the teddy bears and the diamond earings, but in this case she got a severence package.

The real scumbag here is the woman’s husband who is essentially trying to blackmail Ensign.

At the end of the day this might be a moral issue, but it is between Ensign, his wife, the ex girlfriend/staffer, and her husband. There is no reason he should resign over it and frankly it seems the whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

Now had he been trying to get his underage male page to give him a spongebath or trying to solicit homosexual sex in a public bathroom, or if he was sleeping around on his wife while she was suffering from cancer and thinking their marriage was perfect then I might have a problem with it – but in comparison what this guy did is pretty tame.

There was more about it last night, but I couldn’t google it up. Once Ensign started the affair, he doubled her pay and paid her son $5000 for ‘consulting’ I have a feeling she wouldn’t have gotten a 100% raise if she wasn’t sucking his dick.

    It is a big deal.

Nepotism in politics? Say it isn’t so. Here all this time I thought it was merely a coincidence that those with the last name of Kennedy and Bush were always so successful.

  4. Even though I like Ensign, I think he should resign. He was on record saying Clinton should resign and also with Craig.

Also, this onion has some stinky layers below it that might get peeled back. Its an internal Republican party issue with some funds involved that is strait out of Chicago politics. I think we will all have our sillof that shit before too long.

Well Sy, doesn’t matter what party they come from, it’s always do as I say, not as I do.

I might agree except that he IS/WAS such a sanctimonious son-of-a-bitch.

He called Larry “Wide Stance” Craig “embarrassing” and demanded he resign.

He called for Bill Clinton’s resignation back when he was having his fling with harMonica.

He is/was a member of the Crazy Christian “Promise Keepers” and has ranted and railed on against same sex marriage – and even believes in amending the US Constitution to “protect the sanctity of marriage.”

If he were just another guy gettin laid it would be no big deal. It’s the fact that he’s such a loud-mouthed hypocrite.

And he had to pay the lady for sex. You would think he could have saved a couple of bones just hiring a hooker now and then. What a dumbass.
