As South DaCola reported last week (yet the SD MSM did not say a peep about it) Thune voted against rape protections for federally funded private contractors. But it gets better, a blogger from http://www.thecrookeddope.com/ tracked his ass down and asked him why he voted against the amendment, his response;

Thune said that he might have supported the amendment if it had been narrowed to cover rape (only) rather then extended to cover other sexual-related abuses.

WTF!? So in your book John, rape is bad but not other sex crimes? Not only are you a jackass, but that is one of the biggest bullshit excuses I have heard from you in a long, long time. You truly embarrass our state.

Read more of the excuses here.

7 Thoughts on “Senator Thune continues the Bullshit fest (H/T – Helga)

    It isn’t just rape or sex crimes, but the use of manditory binding arbitration in the first place.
    Companies use this to get out of all kinds of stuff while staying out of the media spotlight. Let’s say you get screwed over by your company, but have this clause written into your contract. You can’t sue them in court. What you can do is sit down with arbitrators (chosen and paid by the company – no conflict of interest there at all) and work out a settlement.

  2. Yes, because if I was gang raped and thrown in a crate for a day I would just want a ‘settlement’ from my abusers.

  3. I’m still wondering when someone in the SD MSM is going to cover Thune’s vote.

    The only way the masses will hear about this is during an attack ad against Thune in the next election.

    At least campaigns are good for something.

  5. Mike Stark was the only one that got a comment from Thune on his vote for rape, maybe Stark will ask Thune if he lived in any of the C Street houses. The Argus certainly won’t do it.

  6. Cost-

    No one is running against him. I mentioned this to someone the other day who can’t stand Thune and he said, “There is a solution, maybe someone should take his legs out with a baseball bat.” and I responded, “Wouldn’t do any good, Johnson won another term in a wheelchair.”

    If I squint real hard he kinda looks like Tony Hawk! But I know it’s not, because Tony Hawk gives a damn about people.
