Representative Gordon Howie comes out of the closet?
Read the entire hilarious exchange here. It reads like a script from a ‘Mr. Show’ skit. BTW, check out the latest David Cross project (not safe for work, lots oh’ cussy, cussy).

2009 Good Riddance!
Besides the fact that Governor Moose Drool didn’t get elected VP, politically 2009 sucked. Bush and his ilk tanked the economy and left Obama two failing wars and mountains of debt. And it didn’t get much better locally, the City council voted 5-4 to raise retail taxes in one of the worst recessions in 60 [...]

Rush Limbaugh had an apparent heart attack? Big surprise.

South Dakotans prefer openness? Yah think?
I hope judge Caldwell and Roger Hunt take a good hard look at this survey;
By a 3-to-1 ratio, South Dakotans say campaign finance disclosure laws, such as the one state Rep. Roger Hunt skirted in 2006, provide valuable information for voters. The minority say those laws violate a donor’s right to free speech.

Sioux Falls municipal election predictions
As you can see there is a lot more fish in the barrel when it comes to the city election. These are my early predictions (I will probably change these predictions closer to the election).
At-Large (A)
I think Kooistra will win this race by at least 70%, his opponent, Gaetze, is unknown, and what we have [...]

Platting fees way under prediction and November sales way down from 2008
As you can see the city now is down -4.1% from last year. I suspect that number may rise a little in December because of Christmas sales, but not much.
And as you can see, taxpayers have put in over 8x more to the arterial road fund then developers have. I found out Monday why this [...]
