A little birdy told me yesterday that Bob filed paperwork to collect petitions to run for Minnehaha county auditor. It will be an open seat in 2010. I believe (?) four Republicans have filed paperwork so far.

First off, I guess Bob would plan to pull a Darren Smith and just bail on his commitment as city councilor if he wins (which he won’t) and secondly, I remarked to someone today, “Does he even know what a county auditor does?”

These guys crack me up.

5 Thoughts on “Bob Litz for County Auditor? Your’e kidding? Right?

Did these guys ever have real jobs?

A mayor’s assitant pays 4 times more than a burger flipper at Castillo’s. Yet the burger flipper requires more skill. At least now, minimum wage Castillo slaves must be provided health care.

    More like six times more.

First of all that doesn’t even begin until 2014, so those low wage burger flippers won’t be covered anytime soon.

Second of all they are only required to provide healthcare to full time workers of which there likely aren’t many at Fuddruckers. There might be a few managers, but they probably get some type of health insurance already.

Third, just because they are required to offer coverage, doesn’t mean the employee will be able to afford it.

I’m sure more than a few employers will offer healthplans that are paid 100% by the employee…and if the employee decides to opt out, they will be stuck with a fine and the employer could care less.

I could be wrong on some of this, but this is how I understand it. I also think you are going to find a few businesses who hover right around that 50 employee limit who conveniently lay off a couple of workers so they can fly under the radar.

I mean honestly as a business owner who has 49 employees… what is the incentive to hire one more person unless absolutely necessary? I just don’t think this bill is going to be the magical cure.

    Costner,

We have one thing in common. Sometimes something really gets our goat. Right again tho.

Actually, if Castillo slave jobs paid more and had benefits there could be a better service and product.

Working poor have 2 and 3 jobs but still can’t make it. I’d not do it. Better to collect welfare and sell drugs to Castillo’s kids. Sure, chance of some serious time but either way is merely 3 squares and a cot. At least prison offers health care.
