Make no mistake, this is a disaster of epic proportions. Even if BP had all the money in the world they can never repay the damage and wait until hurricane season kicks in. Can’t wait for those oil rains (post your links to other oil spill stories in the comments section).

  1. Maybe we should quit forcing oil companies to drill in a mile of water when there’s other areas they could hit in shallow water or even on dry land.

    On the plus side, when they figure out how to effectively stop this leak, they’ll have a working model for the future.
    Being able to fix problems at that depth should have been a prerequisite to being allowed to drill there.
