I received this announcement a few minutes ago – and to be honest with you, I have no idea what he is running for. He did confirm that he will run as a Republican and not an Indy or Libertarian.

You are invited to attend a press conference where an important announcement will made.  Immediately following Kermit will fly out west for a press conference in Rapid City.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

When: Wednesday, June 2nd

Time: 9:00 am

Where: Carnegie Town Hall 10th & Dakota

My best guess is he is Gordon Howie’s pick for Lt. Governor.

Looks like my guess is right.

That’s a winning team!! Howie will now vault up to 4% of the vote.

Yeah, I hear you on that one. Doogard already has this whole thing wrapped up.

And I see Heidiscott is showing his true color by picking a fellow Republican to run with him. So which Republican will win? The Moderate or the Moderate-Moderate?

    Wow.
All I have to say is wow. I guess Kermit really has decided that he’s done with politics in the state.

I always thought he was smarter than to tie himself to a non-apologetic theocrat. Whatever crossover appeal he used to have with the working class Democrats is now gone.

Too tell you the truth, I am disappointed with most of the politicians in the state. This is the best we got?

  6. Ooooof

  7. Embarrasing for Staggers. Bad judgment to associate with theocracy and tax-dodging.

    Ooooh! Strategery!

  9. CORY, I agree, I am very disappointed.

I’m glad he’s not mayor. Munson corruption is coming into frame. Huether term will be nothing but damage control.

It seems, better leaders served in the military. He’s got worldly experience with focus on people.

He’ll give back without side deals unlike politicians who further their wealth from corruption.

Good luck Mr. Staggers. You’d be good in state politics.

  12. Simply amazing turn of events. Does Kermit have a new found love of losing?

If he truly lines up with Howie because he thinks he will be the best option for Gov., I’d say it’s safe to say we dodged a massive bullet by not electing him mayor.

Very disappointing. I thought more of Staggers, but I guess he is comfortable associating with a proven hypocrite who complains about taxes while trying to raise them and who complains about excessive spending while he can’t even balance his own books.

Based upon this I dare say Sy is right… we very well may have dodged a bullet by electing Mike instead of Kermit.

I saw Gordon out waving at all the detoured folks at 69th and Minn. he other day.
I wondered what he’d have done if I went up to him and asked him to support Dave Knudson after the primary when he has nothing better to do.

Well, you have to admit one thing, Staggers is a benefit to the Howie campaign, and will probably garner him some votes. But like I have said before, Doogard will probably rake in over 40% of the vote.

Staggers teaches political science. Being active in the process is a credit for the university and fortunate for his students. Staying in the ring and debate is more experience. If he never wins, he’d be remarkable as a political consultant or lobbyest.

What a team! One who gets crushed in the mayoral election teams up with a con artist who is $ 57,000 in arrears on his property taxes. I guess everyone else needs to be fiscally responsible but the Howie and Staggers team! Anyone who votes for fools like this are bigger fools themselves!

It’s gonna be just like in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome when Masterblaster run Bartertown. Howie sent out for a brain, and this is what he got.

  19. l3wis on June 2, 2010 at 8:54 pm said:

    Gordon doesn’t deserve Kermit.

Yeah, it is an odd couple, but someone has to do the math now and then.

Gordon probably figured somewhere in his simple mind that if he picked a running mate from SF, he might get a few more votes from around here.

I wonder if they will do a duet of Gordon’s campaign song?
