I want your due process rights in my belly!

OMG! I’m sure Dan Daily’s head probably exploded after reading this article;

A fired city attorney and current state legislator who once defended the constitutionality of Sioux Falls’ grievance procedures is suing the city for violating his due process rights.

The irony of this is so thick, I’m not sure what to say. I’ll let you battle it out in the comments section. Keep it clean, Dan.

Ironic that the man who denied due hearings to 10,000 traffic camera ticket holders and 8,000 city citation holders now claims he’s been denied due process. He’s excellent at obstructing justice and his case will be ongoing for years. Please don’t vote GOP party lines without checking to see if his name is on the ballot. He won into the legislature with one percent.

  3. I just read the full story, and it may have been the funniest read in months. He’s suing because he doesn’t get to choose the people who hears his case? And he objects to one of them because his daughter didn’t get an automatic A in his class? Wow, he’s an even bigger fucktard than I ever imagined.

  4. That’s what working for the city in the same job for 16 years will do to you. Fantasy land.

The grade thing made me laugh to.

  7. And he got elected to State Legislature? The only explanation for this is that people in this State blindly vote straight Republican time and time again without regard to the person running for office. His election was a such disappointment!

You read an article in the paper, try your best to process it, and believe every word written in the AL because that is what you want to believe. You then make asinine comments. Being hard pressed for intelligent comments, you even have to sink to new levels by commenting on a persons size. Is this similar to using the N word, using the R word for a mentally handicapped, or other such comments? Comments like that tell me a great deal about you, none of it complimentary.

You also mention that Tornow only won with one percent. Perhaps this is true since I have not calculated it but with what percentage did you win your seat? Oh that’s right, with all of your knowledge and wisdom, why don’t you run for something, like dog catcher.

Is Due Process something for everyone or would you like to restrict it only to those people who you like and/or agree with?

You and others like you, are a prime examples of a Jack Wagon. Your pithy comments leave much to be desired.

What, you only know a few people that come to mind as bottom feeds. Sorry you don’t have more company.

I am assuming that was your best shot for a response and such being the case, you have certainly proven your intellectual capacity and level. Thanks! I always thought that about you and now you have given me the evidence I needed to prove it, you Jack Wagon anyway. You could always go and get a job as a waiter but I wouldn’t wish that for a group of generally good people.

Powderhouse, you are the second person I’ve ever witnessed using the phrase “Jack Wagon.” Picturing you at your computer typing it just isn’t as effective or demonstrative as hearing it from the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket.

OK, take it somewhere else. What’s important is Tornow is gone from the city. He can no longer hide as council and will be the principal witness in court cases against the city.

  18. “Is Due Process something for everyone or would you like to restrict it only to those people who you like and/or agree with?”

Powderpuff – Shawn is the epitome of a bottom feeder. He collected his wages from the same people he stabbed in the back daily. The citizen taxpayers. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. And while denying these very people due process and costing the city thousands of dollars in lawsuits (that are still pending) he has the audacity to fucking cry about those same rights not being afforded to him because some professor gave his daughter a shitty grade? How can’t one laugh their ass off at this clown? I don’t even feel anger anymore, only pity.

“Being hard pressed for intelligent comments, you even have to sink to new levels by commenting on a persons size.”

Last I checked my belly is getting up there with Mr. Tornow’s, I guess I’m calling the kettle black. Boy, you busted me there. The only ‘handicap’ Mr. Tornow has is his lack of knowledge of constitutional rights.

Maybe him and Quadir Aware can start a little club?

    Any name suggestions?

Mr tornow was the public face of the city attorney and it was his job to defend against nut jobs that sue the city because they can not play by the rules. There is a bunch of them out there and they are not all ” Good People of Sioux Falls”. I personally think he did a great job .
As far as the hearing and illegally firing him ( read: political hit on a civil service employee ) …Me thinks the $500,000 we are spending on the Events Center Consultant will look like pocket change before this is all said and done…

l3wis: A bottom feeder for doing a job for which he was hired? Apparently you have been keeping score so….what is his win/loss record or are you blowing smoke? Just out of curiosity, who makes the final decision in the City Attorney’s Office or the Mayoral Office as to whether to proceed with a case? Did you ever see the name of the City Attorney as the person handling it? If you don’t like the message, always kill the messenger.

What exactly does his daughter’s grade have to do with Due Process and Rights? Somehow I missed that point and apparently you did as well. Could it just have been a Cheap Shot just because you don’t like the guy? Perhaps you have many who do not like you (I believe this to be a fair statement), but does that give cause to taking shots at one of your relatives. Again, what is the relationship between a grade and Due Process/Rights?

Have you ever thought of becoming an assistant to Burns on Constitutional Rights? Perhaps you ought to apply for Burns’ position with your knowledge of constitutional rights.

Oh yes, let me say that your literary skills are quite evident in your second to the last sentence and would be highly sought after in writing any constitution.

Scott: Just to set the record straight, I am not R. Shawn Tornow. To even assume that or let that cross your mind, seems to exhibit a great deal of naivete and/or ignorance. I am only a person who wishes to try and make people think and ignore what appears to be a pack mentality. We need more people who are willing to take a stand on issues and not just jump.

  21. The daughter’s grade is why Tornow demanded that Mark Grevlos not be one of those who hears his case.

  22. BTW, what great stand has Tornow ever made???

  23. “Mr tornow was the public face of the city attorney and it was his job to defend against nut jobs that sue the city because they can not play by the rules.”

The rules are ‘Due Process’. Heck, even murderers are afforded it, but not people who throw down a slab of concrete? Let’s talk about ‘nut jobs’

“As far as the hearing and illegally firing him”

He was illegally fired? That’s news to me. We live in a right to work state, as far as I’m concerned, should have been fired 15 years and 364 days ago.

“A bottom feeder for doing a job for which he was hired?”

So Tornow’s job was to defend the city against the US Constitution’s unfair practice of ‘Due Process”?

This shit get’s funnier by the day. Keep posting, please, I haven’t pissed my pants enough today.

Im pretty sure he won a handful of cases against the police or fire unions. Pretty sure those are the same unions (Mike’s “good folks”) that supported Manly Mike in his race against Stagers. Do ya suppose that might have been part of the political hit?? BTW, with all your knowlege of the citys process how does ‘right to work’ have anything to do with the fact that most city employees are entitled to civil service hearing rights if their illegally let go?
Also, I think it was Mike (not Mark) Grevlos and if I read it right, his daughters grade was just one of a list of reasons why Tornows lawyer thought this Grevlos shouldnt hear this. Fact is I think I heard something about that he teaches with one of the hearing members spouses. Sure , that sounds fair?

  26. This wasn’t a political ‘hit’ by Huether. This firing was long overdue. Munson tried to have him fired (I heard) but worried about Tornow suing the city because of Civil Service rights, in which he did anyway.

The guy was incompetent, vindictive and corrupt, he had it coming.

  27. Ok, I had the wrong Grevlos. Still, it’s a pretty weak excuse.

  28. I got a tip today about another ‘incident’ with Tornow’s daughter. I hope to have solid deets tomorrow.

So calling someone heavy or obese or fat is the same as calling someone the N word? Thats a bigger stretch than Tornow’s waistline on his track suit.

The difference being Tornow could prevent himself from becoming a huge blog of tissue whereas an African American / Black cannot change the color of their skin. Micheal Jackson did try, but it didn’t pan out so well.

Besides, Tornow is fat. Tornow is obsese. Tornow is heavy… those are all facts like them or not. You can find a new word or phrase for it if you wish (gravity oppressed perhaps?) but since I’m not a politically correct type of guy, I’ll stick with clever phrases like tub-o-lard…. because that is exactly what he is.

Funny how you chastise people for using insulting language, and seconds later you are calling people Jack Wagons. Oh wait, is that supposed to be an affectionate label?

Finally, if you have even paid attention at all you would know that Tornow was behind the lawsuits taht the city is still fighting and which so far they are losing, because we was denying due process to the citizens by not allowing a proper appeals process. Now that same Tornow is on the other side of the fence complaining about due process rights.

You may not be Tornow, but you both share a common level of hypocrisy. Makes me wonder what connection you have with him… did you happen to meet him on a dating site or something so you feel the need to defend him?

What was that site by the way? http://www.chubbiesandhubbies.com?

Oh sure I could pack a dozen or so posts full of intelligent statements about the entire Tornow debacle, but since this site isn’t even trying to pretend to be impartial or journalistic in any fashion, I don’t think it is necessary.

Say hi to Tornow during your next overeaters anonymous meeting.

While I have not read the file (yet) I was told Shawn turned a speeding ticket against his daughter into a circus. Shawn is good at one thing, obstruction. He played that game with Dan Daily.
