I applaud them today for recognizing the US Constitution:

A legislative committee recommended passage of a statewide ban on red light traffic cameras this morning.

That is pretty strong committee support. I predict it will pass on a full vote, and it should. Fining people without an appeals process or REAL proof of guilt (fining the license plate instead of the driver) is unjustified. It’s also unconstitutional. The guilty should always get their day in court.

The camera case is in state court as a class seeking compensation (maybe 5 mil). Hint! Hint! City attorney should start making settlement offers. The case will probably go full term for full premium and become a national precident for other states. This is how Mayor Mubarek will not be reelected.

  5. Yeah, seems some people are getting a little nervous . . .

There will be a Jury trial shortly to decide the outcome of monies and what should be right and wrong also going to the supreme ct. probably to rule on the matter of the defendants paying volentarily or under duress

  8. When they installed them I said from the beginning it was stupid. One person did not yield and ran over and killed one person who was employed at the Argus Leader. While tragic, the person who broke the law was punished, so why should the rest of us be denied our constitutional rights becuz of the actions of one person? It is silly and it seems it is unconstitutional.
