Looks like Dean ‘No Goats’ Karsky is throwing his hat in the ring. He will make his second attempt at trying to actually garner a majority of the citizen’s votes.

Candidates can begin to take out petitions starting Friday. But any candidate can file a interest of organization and financial statement right now. Jamison and Karsky already have. I have also heard from both individuals, Anderson and Staggers that they are running. So that gives us three incumbents and one previous councilor.

There is a lot of things I dislike about our local government, but I really do enjoy covering campaigns, forums and debates.

UPDATE: Andy Traub sent me this yesterday;

I will be on KSOO Thursday from 4:30-5:30 to talk about what motivates people to run for office and what the people want from their representatives. Should be interesting. I may run, I may not. I just want to hear what people want before I run. I have a lot of respect  for how Rick and Ruth run their show so that’s why I am starting there. I’d love to start that discussion in the blogosphere as well so use this news however you want. I think Sioux Falls needs some new faces to represent the city. If I run it’ll be a very different kind of campaign, I promise.

I am assuming if Andy runs, it will be for the At-Large seat, since I think he lives in the Central District.

6 Thoughts on “Who is running for SF city council? We will know more this Friday

    I’ve got to give it to ya – you find some of the best pictures to slap people’s heads on. I about fell out of my chair with this one. Nice biceps – Thing 1 and Thing 2.

  2. Know who’s body that is? It is a famous football player.

  3. Andy does live in the Central District which means that the only council seat that he is eligible to run for is the At-Large seat. The same seat that Kermit Staggers is running for.

    Given the current INEXPERIENCE on the Council (Aguilar, Entenman, Erpenbach, Karsky, Rolfing) our community needs Dr. Staggers VAST experience and knowledge of local, state and federal government.

    I have watched Andy Traub become more visible over the past year…… I appreciate his willingness to speak out, but he needs more time to mature in his knowledge of issues that face SF citizens!

    cr – how come you don’t get in the running? You are probably more knowledgeable than all of the city council put together.

  5. Alice – No kidding huh? CR and I are in the same boat. We know too much.
