7 Thoughts on “Jamison Events

  1. This guy is running on nothing. Slow motion train-wreck.

Sioux Falls just had its 5th armed robbery in less than a month this morning. Pretty sure those business owners, store clerks, customers, and nearby residents think that’s a big deal. That’s hardly “running on nothing.”

  3. Poverty pushes people towards desperation, I’m surprised we don’t see more of this in Sioux Falls.

Actually, Q, Jamison is running on his six-year record on the City Council. Just as MMM must now run on his four-year record as Mayor, something he had the advantage of NOT doing the first time around!

  5. Greg Jamison Announces Pro Active Plan to Reduce Crime as Part Two of People First Initiative

Sioux Falls SD – Greg Jamison a candidate for Sioux Falls Mayor announced on Tuesday part two of his People First Initiative. Jamison wants to bring more focus on Public Safety and the growing crime problem in the community.

Jamison’s People First Initiative is to put the focus of the mayor’s office back on the people of Sioux Falls. Putting more focus means not only talking about problems facing our community but to act on those problems. Jamison as mayor wants to put forth a pro-active plan that will prevent crime in the growing community. “Our cities police department is doing a great job with the lack of resources they have but with these growing crime numbers in our community they need to be addressed and not just talked about. The Mayor’s office priorities need to return to the safety of the people of Sioux Falls and give our police department the resources they need to fight crime.”

Crime statistics in Sioux Falls have been steadily rising over the past four years so much so that Minnehaha County commission is looking into doubling the size of their jail. “When you take a look at the crime stats over the past four years the numbers are honestly disturbing in a family orientated community,” said Jamison. Major Crime has risen in Sioux Falls with Felonies rising forty eight percent, rape up nine percent, robbery up fifty one percent, aggravated assault up fifty six percent, drug arrests up fifteen percent, and burglaries up fifteen percent.

Jamison knows that his pro-active crime prevention plan will reduce crime, save money, and protect our family values. The pro-active crime prevention plan focuses on putting more patrol officers on the street while also retaining more officers. “Putting more patrol officers on the streets will increase the interaction with possible criminals that cause crime in our community. To put more patrol officers on the streets we need to take a closer look at retaining those officers that we put through officer training school.”

Putting more Patrol officers on the street is not the only plan Jamison has to combat crime in Sioux Falls. Jamison wants to create a special crime unit that would focus on the most violent crimes. “The police department like any business is constantly being pulled and stretched adapting to the resources that they have. I want to create a crime unit that is dedicated to the worst of the worst criminals so that we can keep our streets clean of the most violent crimes,” Says Jamison.

The final step to Jamison Pro-Active Crime Prevention Plan is to bring all entities that deal with criminal activity to the table. Jamison goes on to explain, “We can’t turn on the television or open the newspaper without watching or reading about something violent happening in our community. I want to bring leaders of our community together and find ways to combat crime. Overall my number one job as mayor will be to correct this problem and make Sioux Falls a safer place to call home.”

The People First Initiative will continue to, as it says, put the people of Sioux Falls first. Look for further announcements and updates to Jamison’s People First Initiative. Is Jamison basically running the same ideas with a bit more organization?
