I was fortunate to meet Thelma in 1993, a passionate woman, a beautiful soul. She thought me a lot about women’s rights. At the ripe age of 21, I was brought into the world of NARAL and NOW. I will always remember her enormous sense of humor, and kind heart. South Dakota will miss this wonderful fighter and humanitarian.
Thelma Underberg, 83 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Sanford Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 12 pm with the family present from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.

Thelma was a warm, good, and decent person, a good Democrat, a great South Dakotan, and a courageous one at that…. May she rest in peace.
