The big promise from the City’s IT department today is that you will be able to watch the meetings online in any web browser besides Explorer. Well I’m not holding my breath, but hey, it just might work.

5 Thoughts on “So will the city meeting online videos work today?

Sue Quanbeck Etten, director of Central Services, was asked about this by Councilor Erpenbach today at the budget hearing. She said it is still in internal testing and had some quality issues when put under load, so they went back to the vendor for improvements. It won’t be online today, but they hope to roll it out in the “near future”. Hopefully it is getting closer.

I noticed, and KNEW it would not be working today. Nothing but empty promises. You can’t put our public employees on a deadline, they are a not-for-profit business that doesn’t have to meet ‘goals’. The citizens HAVE to pay taxes, and our customer service representatives don’t have to fulfill those services because they will still have their jobs at the end of the day as long as they lick the emperor’s boots. It’s a complete joke and they want to add 27 more of these incompetent clowns at a cost of over $2 million next year.

Isn’t it time to contract this out? Obviously, city IT is incompetant. Take a city truck, drive by Heritage Park, have vagrants jump in the back, drive to Carnegie Hall, and see what they can do. It won’t be any better but can’t be any worse. Pay them with a malt liquor quart and save thousands per day.

Actually, make the Heritage people new hires. They’re equally as good at doing nothing and some could be police for not seeing what goes on at the park.

It’s because city IT only has VHS tapes and it’s betamax.
