A couple of weeks ago Brian Allen got all giddy about his ‘exclusive’ interview with the mayor about his future plans (in an empty room at the Old Courthouse). The mayor told him, what he has told everyone else; not ready to make an announcement yet. They also did a glowing interview about Huether Family Moth Ball center and his wife winning a national tennis award.
Today they decide that is was a news story that the mayor talked to a classroom of students (like he has dozens of times during his administration);
“He makes it sound like it’s changing the world then just being part of a government.”
Yeah, and after you are done taking advice from the mayor on making change in the world, pick up a copy of mein kampf, it also has some great ideas on changing the world.
Can a current city council member run for mayor without resigning their spot on the council? Can a city employee (ie city management, street dept employee, fire or police employee, etc) run while still employed or do they have to resign? Certainly think there are some internal people that could do a good job along with the likes of some of the others that have been mentioned to take over and fix this city.
Two people who would make a great mayor? Theresa or Jennifer Holsen. Both cut from the same cloth as Elizabeth Warren. See a trend here?
If you like someone, you don’t want them as the next mayor. Correcting for Huether’s half a billion in foolish projects requires bankruptcy. Your reputation is ruined before you even take office. The mayor after the next 4 year mayor is a much better time and place.
Brennan saw the future. The Sioux Falls Nostradamus. Time to leave before nobody can repay high interest loans and there’s nothing of value to pawn. Still, we got tennis (bouncy bouncy) and a roman bathhouse.
