    Councilor Starr did a wonderful job defending the merits of this action.Some points that I appreciated:
    1. Dr. Giebink donated this property to be used for the betterment of Sioux Falls residents.
    2. The City paid $100,000 for the property.
    3. This property is already properly zoned for housing for people with a criminal record..it is a challenge to find places for these people to live.
    4. The property can either be gifted or sold for 90% of the appraised valve.
    5. This is an opportunity to do something that will benefit the entire community. We already help other nonprofit organizations.
    6. There is a clause attached to the agreement that will not allow the Glory House to sell the land or use it for profit.
    7. The process has been open and transparent.( I can attest to the truth of this).
    Thanks for your leadership on this councilor Starr!!!

    What is your connection to the Glory House? Why did you make the proposal? In my math it is much more $$$ than the appraisal price of 500,000. As a valuable city asset it would have to be replaced at 500K+++. Acquire replacement property, current resume prop is approx 2.5K+ × 2.4=600,000 for a total of 1 600,000 . If the city council approves this then this amount should also be approved at the same time to pay for replacement costs of this facility.
    You consider yourself a fiscal watchdog? Are other non profits who provide similar services to be gifted, in proportion to the size to number of clients that they serve to the same ratio as this gift to the Glory Hse.
    Again I would like to know your connections to the Glory House .
    Please don’t personalize this because I support their mission just not as generously as you and the city council.
    Maybe your spending to much time at Wiley’s?
