Wow! I know people who pay more then that for a DUI charge, first offense. With all the dead people and millions missing in tax money, one wonders if any of these people (guarded by the SD GOP) will ever receive justice? Doesn’t look like it.

But hey, South Dakota isn’t corrupt.

7 Thoughts on “Bollen gets off with a $2K fine.

  1. $ 2000 is not a lot money when you consider it would take 250 of such monetary allotments to come up with enough money ($ 500,000) to acquire a visa through the Federal EB5 program…Either….

Cleaning up this problem is what’s really important. Here was small relative to the rest of the country. Funds were paid back and this is a permanent smear on his reputation. Clogging the courts with appeals would have worn this out until it lapses. This way the matter is concluded. This million or so is minor compared to the 500 million Huether misappropriated. Use state resources to go after him.

  3. Disgusting decision. While some sit behind bars for bad checks this scum walks with a fine. The judge should have thrown this deal out and this should hurt Jacklys run for gov.

LJL, this is small stuff. I actually think Jackley is best for governor. What’s important is giving Huether the boot. A narcissist wants to be caught. He’ll play without realizing developers will take states witness immunity. Jackley plays both sides. It’s the sign of a leader. Huether’s done for. His worst enemy is himself.

Can you imagine living with Huether in a big house on a dry lake. Remember Jack Nicolson ‘The Shining’. “Here’s Johnny”.

Florida has tort reform. I fought a case there. You offer 80% settlement. If they don’t take it and you win, it’s full settlement plus attorney and court costs. In my case it was a client I decided to work with their competitor but wanted to collect something. The legal avenue is not worth it. It’s a free country but you can’t afford the litigation.

One more reason to never cast a vote for Jackley for any public office.
