Major City Director Retirement Announcement

If I had to guess, it would be director of Planning, Mike Cooper, but it could also be SFFD Chief, Jim Sidearis. Either or, I think a lot of directors will be jumping ship over the next 13 months instead of waiting for their official pink slip in May of 2018 from the new mayor. There is only two directors I think will be safe, Library, Jodi Fick and Mark Cotter, Public Works from the next mayor’s axe, unless of course Diamond Jim wins (Huether Part II)

Mayor Mike Huether will announce a significant retirement in the leadership ranks of Sioux Falls City government.

Probably another fireman expatriot to their private lake. Police and fire reach top rank and soon retire. Once promoted, they should have to serve at least 5 years before retirement or be demoted with less benefits at their old rank.

Do your research before posting a ridiculous comment. The current chief has been in the position since 2011. And if you are so passionate, get off the daily spin and serve SF in a better manner that actually makes a positive impact to the community.

Sml, yeah, Dan really needs to get his shit straight, Jim served a whole 6 years NOT 5 years as chief. LOL.

I see he is getting a nice golden parachute with a non-profit.

You seemed to have hit a nerve with someone, l3wis.

Given the amount of time you invest in understanding local politics/issues, I would say you are definitely making a positive impact on our community.

Thank you.
