That will probably be the last presser the Mayor calls about his ‘future’ that anyone shows up to. In fact, I would even go so far to say, that I’m not sure if the press will ever show up to another mayoral press conference no matter what it is about. The wolf is dead.

I guess there should be a bit of celebration here, as of right now, the mayor has NO plans to run for higher office in 2018.

But to throw a press conference to show us you read the bible, you have family members, you still know how to fake cry and you have to tell your dead father’s story, just one more time would have been no different than me throwing a press conference to tell people a took a crap today.

There were a few moments that were laughable though;

I find it ironic that a deist like my self knows more about the teachings of Jesus Christ and the New Testament than Mike does. His actions as a policy maker have been anything but Christian or Jesus ‘LIKE’.

Shortly after reading his Bible passages he decides to take a shot at a mayoral candidate. He of course doesn’t name Greg Jamison, but it was obvious who he was talking about.

And the one that I found intriguing is that he wants to write a couple of books, one about himself. I find this interesting because I also plan to write something similar about Mike from my over 8 years of following him on my blog. It will basically be a condensed version of all the things I have blogged about him.

As you know, I have nothing personal against the mayor, I wish him luck with his bucket list, and am very, very, very happy that after May 2018 he will no longer be making policy decisions for our city, as long as the new mayor doesn’t hire him as a director . . . God help us, because if that happens we all will be reading the Bible a lot more.

22 Thoughts on “Suckered Again; Huether’s NON Announcement

  1. it will be fun to watch the anti-huether commercials the republican pacs run.

  2. If so, he’ll probably run as a pro-life candidate, don’t you think? Which also means there will be three pro-lifers running for Congress in the fall (Bjorkman is pro-life too).

Perhaps a pro-choice Independent candidate should emerge to win this race with 35+ percent of the vote….

We know for a fact, based on past referendum votes, that roughly 57% of the state voting population is pro-choice. So you only need less than 2/3s of them to win the election.

And that would definitely also teach those Dems, with a pro-life angle, to settle down and go back to their day jobs too.

When he had his change of voter registration event, he praised Donald Trump and disparaged Nancy Pelosi. It was the most nakedly opportunistic display by a local elected official I have seen. I’m looking forward to this next episode.

A lot has been exposed about huether as of late. He is anti transparency. He has lost the vote of those concerned about his man love for legacy development. He has lost the vote of anyone who swings a golf club. He has lost the vote of the thousands who live in any of the 62 annexation islands. He has lost the vote of anyone who believes in plurality over majority. With that going against him, he can’t even win Minnehaha county, let alone the rest of the state that despises SF.

    Please mike, run.

Well Congress has two Chambers so this prediction is a bit of a hedge. I would be shocked if he set his sights on the lower.

  6. Point of order>>>> He did not praise Trump and refused to say who he would be voting for president. I cant recall any quotes he made about Pelosi.

No way that guy’s ego can stand being put to re-election every two years.

So he is announcing that he isn’t doing anything for the time being?

Past SF mayors dropped out of sight and mind. Huether will be no exception. Being the worst mayor in city history guarantees him gone. He’ll have a few announcements and interviews once in awhile when the media can’t find a negative comment. Otherwise, he’ll become a ‘Here’s Mikey’ haunting his wife at his big home on the dry lake near Madison.

I recall a belfrage “show” in which huether told the good folks of SF how he was fascinated by the way trump was manipulating the media. This was a couple months before the election. huether carries on the fine donald tradition of manipulating the media. Who needs a warchest when you get all the media attention you want for free.

    What a nothing burger.

Who the heck is “we”? I threw up in my mouth a little after reading the Argus article posted above; but aside from those whose pockets he’s lining, who else thinks this clown has been good for the majority of citizens of Sioux Falls to ever want him involved in their lives again?

“Our commitment to you, God-willing and yes the people-willing, we will serve you again,” Huether said. “Sioux Falls, if you need us, we will be here for you. South Dakota. If you are willing to dream bigger, we will be here for you.”

  13. Wow, I was having flashbacks. I thought it was the late 1970s and I was watching Jim and Tammy Baker today, especially when he waved that messy Bible into the air. I kept thinking he was going to ask for more money for his indoor water park. I guess we now know why our public plows are “Christian” in nature, huh?

But on a more serious note, he made a smart political move today. He needs to reinvent himself, except that changing his registration to Independent has painted him into a permanent corner, I believe. Only if the Democrats totally implode in South Dakota and a big scandal erupts against the Republicans or a Republican opponent do I think that Huether can win as an Independent in the future, but time will tell…… And as he unveils his writing skills, I think he should first start with a blog…. 😉

  14. I laughed at the fact his wife calls themselves the First Family.

  15. i’m sure mmm will hold a press conference to announce his endorsements for mayor and council.

  16. More people will be thrilled to see him go than will ever be willing to say it out loud. Bye Felicia.

  17. After watching KELO, I think his decision had a lot to do with his wife not wanting him to pursue any future political office.

She obviously does not enjoy politics the way he does.

I’m betting he is counting on Jim Entenman being elected mayor and playing some role in his administration, while he bides his time until 2022 when he runs for SF mayor AGAIN!

  18. On KELO, the Mayor claimed he was looking at a future presidential bid. So I can’t wait for the Trump, Oprah, and Huether race in 2020…. I can just image Trump’s nicknames for the other two as well, but they are too “nasty” to mention now….. (But can Oprah defeat two “Builders?”)….. (Could the Mayor finally get the wall built?)….. (Who will be their running mates?….. Huether/Christie?…… Oprah/Ellen?)

  19. Once again I will point out, I have never in 8 years seen Mr Huether at the church he claims to be a member of.
