It’s been several weeks, and still no word on when Noem will pay back the city of Sioux Falls, or if she will file an ‘In-Kind’ donation from the city. Either way, she looks like an Elitist Snob. Over at the Wuss College, they felt the (VERY NON-PUBLIC) visitation of the President was a big story. The only big story is that Noem continues to pretend that her private fundraiser somehow was supposed to be subsidized by the taxpayers of Sioux Falls. And our Mayor’s silence on the issue further proves his partisan ways.

Councilors Stehly and Starr are considering a resolution to formally send Noem a bill. Of course it probably won’t pass the muster of a majority vote with so many GOP Noem robots on the council, but at least there will be a public record of asking for the money and the robots voting publicly to allow the fine hardworking taxpayers of Sioux Falls to illegally subsidize a political campaign.

Pay up Noem!

It’s the right thing to do, even if you are so wrong.

7 Thoughts on “Noem continues to ignore the $20K bill she racked up with the city of SF

  1. Greg might vote for it if he is still upset about how Noem treated his boy Marty.

Too bad Cohen and Trump are no longer on speaking terms. This looks like a mess for Cohen to clean up…. But maybe Noem has a “Cohen” too?

Nor should she. This is obviously just more dung being thrown in Trump’s direction because some don’t like him. Presidents visit places for lots of different reasons. They always have and always will. Get over it.

  4. This has nothing to do with Trump. As I understand it, we are Federally mandated to offer him protection. Noem chose to do a private fundraiser, the key word here is ‘private’. We shouldn’t be subsidizing her event.

Blue collar: interesting to note your use of the word “dung”. The rest of us wouldn’t bother throwing that in Trump’s direction – we simply cite facts, precedent and good ethics. We already know that arguing with a Trump supporter nee Flat Earth Society Member is like figuring out how to pick up a turd on the clean end.

  6. This is very simple. No laws or ordinances have been broken. Please show from an objective source where she has an obligation to pay. If you don’t like the rules then seek to change them. Don’t go back and ask for money. Change the rule for the future.
Noem is under no legal obligation to pay the city. You may think it’s the right thing for her to pay it back and others think it’s right to not pay. Who decides what is right? That is why we have ordinances, etc.

Damage is done for how it looks. It’s going to be hard to get re-elected per this unpaid responsibility. A one term wonder is more embarrassing than what a $200k republican re-election fund could have accomplished. Keeping donation responsibility is a reflection of the person. In this case, the first woman governor has become a poor example.
