While watching the video you will just shake your head with some of the arguments councilors use against this rezoning. It’s not like Habitat is building apartments, they are building twin-homes. The same kind of twin-homes you can see in any neighborhood in this city. This is blatant discrimination against Habitat and the people they sell houses to. It’s further proof that this council is out of touch with its residents once again.

The worst part about this is that Habitat will have to take an even bigger hit on the property, therefore punishing the charitable organization that does wonderful things for this community.

Very sad.

CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPEAL (2009-01-01):  4329 NORTH ALASKA AVENUE AND 4320 NORTH COLORADO AVENUE. THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT WAS TO CONSTRUCT TOWNHOMES. APPROVED AT THE FEBRUARY 4, 2009, PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING WITH A SPLIT VOTE (4-YES, 3-NO).
