Breaking news: The governor does not like smoking!

In other words, “I don’t like smoking, but I’m afraid if this ban passes our revenue from the tobacco tax and telephone booth VL casinos will go down”.

Just watch and roll your eyes when he vetos it.

I’m thinking he will to, but I am also thinking if he does it will explode in his face.

    Of course it will.

Would it be possible to pass one locally? That’d really piss him off.

GoD- The city council has discussed it, but Costello has often lobbied against it, he says because people will just go to the small towns around SF to drink and smoke, drink and drive longer distances, etc, etc, if we pass it here, which I partially agree/disagree, there is no proof of that, people have there favorite places to socialize, and if they have been going to his bar, Borrowed Bucks for instance, they aren’t suddenly gonna start going to the Sports Page in Tea. He is just being a protectionist. I don’t think they would have the votes anyway. I know De supports the ban but that is the only one who has been vocal about it.

Plaintiff- That is a pretty common sign, especially in Canada, I betcha if you googled it you could find a shirt online somewhere.

Oh god.. here comes the cafepress pitch.
I’ll eat my hat if Marion signs this one.
A smoking ban will greatly affect our state revenues through video robbery taxes.
How on earth will the poor people of SD gamble their paychecks away if they can’t slowly kill themselves with KOOLs and shitty beer?

Marion might not have to do it, I just saw on KELO that one of the puddknocker senators is asking for a ‘re-vote’ on the bill.
