I’m an “extremist” of sorts when it comes to free speech (I think people should say whatever and whenever they want…even you with your predictably crude stuff).
I’m just wondering about the outrage from the haters (who are gleeful about Sykes wishing ill health on Limbaugh) if an “entertainer” hopes Obama gets his head bashed in by a wayward basketball.
I don’t get too worked up about what either side says. I actually think some of the stuff Rush says is ignorantly funny. Yes, I am crass, so I really don’t care either way.
And BTW, I don’t think Sykes had to wish ill health on Limbaugh, as many pills as that guy has consumed, I’m surprised he isn’t on dialysis already.
Wonder what comedian wished ill health on Robert Novak?
Gotta admit I hadn’t heard about the Novak thing (I assume you are talking about a conservative/GOP comedian, didn’t know there were any), although lefty blogs were pretty nasty about Novak’s health too. And Tony Snow’s. And GWB when he had a physical. Like wishing he would get cancer.
Like I said, people can say whatever they want. I just wish there was equal-opportunity outrage from libs on stuff like this.
Whay apologize? You diminish the power of satire, dissent and the 1st Amendment when you are constantly apologizing for what you are saying.
Have I done it a few times? Sure. But 99% of what I say and do on this site will never garner an apology because ‘someone’ was offended. The truth hurts – that’s life.
That’s what gives Rush such a good following, his refusal to apologize (whether he is telling the truth or not). I cannot recall in the over 12 years I have listened to him that he has ever apologized.
I think he is a fat fucking asshole, but I admire that he eats his shit sandwich with his followers. Harry Reid would never do that.
