In the light of recent events…the cartoon would have been much much funnier had that been Sarah Palin after she quit because people were picking on her up in Alaska….

    Mac-

Funny, I’m working on Palin/MJ/Obama toon for tonight.

I like Steffy, it was kind of a dig at Republicans because they call her Princess all the time. She better be careful though, if Chris Nelson runs he will be a formidable opponent.

  3. Note to Princess Steffy: Find your alleged fiscal conservative side quickly, because enough of your constituents are getting increasingly pist at each new trillion dollar crisis that is coming down the pike. To that end, you may get to be a stay at home mom much sooner than you anticipated.

Not to mention I wonder how strongly the SD GOP will get behind Nelson if he runs. Yes, he is ten times the candidate Chris Lame was, but he is also a moderate Republican and well liked for being fair. His biggest hurdle will be money. Curious if Roger Hunt’s secret donor would be interested in making a contribution to Nelson’s campaign . . .

Chris Nelson should run for governor. He’ll run right past the others in the field and would bring progressiveness to the governor’s office – so unlike the other pretenders.

Hmmm… This isn’t a surprise since it is a guaranteed spot for her. I hope someone good steps up for Democrats in the SD Governors race. I was hoping the princess would have but it made sense.

In the future I might possibly look at moving because Im being outnumbered by the Mutant BushZombies that live here…

I agree with John2 – Nelson should run for governor. Based upon who has said they were running and those that will be announcing shortly due to Herseth-Sandlin staying put, I think he would be the best candidate by far.

Then again, is there room in the Governor’s Mansion for a guy who has been known to base his decisions at least partly upon common sense and a guy who has ignored party affiliation when it comes time to defend campaign finance laws?

I would vote for Nelson. He knows his way around Pierre and he is a huge proponent of open government, campaign finance reform and following the law. Of course those go against all the Republican ideals. Maybe Nelson should run as an independent.

You’ll find neocons everywhere. They’re just exceptionally loud here. However, two of the loudest are slowly fading away. One from a lack of federal pork, and her husband from a lack of interest in what he has to say.
This state has a suprisingly libertarian bent among most people, but the Ev. Lutheren element keeps social conservatism alive.

    “social conservatism”
