I guess this is what a ‘Big F’ing Deal looks like.’

Joe Biden Nails it!

Washington (CNN) – In the White House room where Abigail Adams used to air out her clean laundry, Vice President Joe Biden used some dirty language.

A microphone picked up Biden uttering the “F” word Tuesday in the majestic East Room of the White House, as President Obama signed the historic health care reform bill into law.

After delivering a rousing introduction of the president in which he praised Obama’s “perseverance” and “clarity of purpose,” Biden turned to embrace his boss.

As the crowd of approximately 300 people cheered wildly, Biden turned to Obama and said with a big smile, “This is a big f– deal!”

The president did not react to the comment, apparently aware that the microphones may have picked up the words.

Shortly after the ceremony, White House Press Secretary used his Twitter feed to try and diffuse any controversy.

“And yes Mr. Vice President, you’re right…” Gibbs tweeted from his @PressSec Twitter account.

An aide to the vice president pointed reporters seeking comment to Gibb’s tweet.

The vice president is known for unscripted moments, but not in such a high-profile setting as a bill-signing ceremony in the East Room. According to the White House Historical Association, first lady Abigail Adams was famous for using the room to dry her laundry. President John F. Kennedy lay in state in the East Room after his assassination in 1963.

“Jack Welch: Republicans In For ‘Awful Shock’ In November (VIDEO)

On CNBC Tuesday, former General Electric CEO Jack Welch warned Republicans expecting big gains in the midterm elections this fall that they’ll “get a large shock.”

Citing improved economic indicators, Welch said, “I don’t think [the Democrats] are going to be wiped out,” and said he expects them to have enough votes in Congress following the election to move forward on other parts of their agenda, like cap and trade.

  3. Jack’s a brilliant guy, but here’s why I don’t think he’s correct.

Obama’s approval has fallen below 50% much faster than Bush’s ever did. And that is with a Media who generally has supported him & helped carry his water.

Pelosi & Reid have also found previously unseen lows in their approval ratings as well. In Nevada the only people who approve of Reid (8%) are his family and his friends.

These numbers started down last summer as the Health Care push heated up and as more of the One’s agenda (Cap & Tax, Stimulus, Card Check) came to light. If this was a fluke you wouldn’t have seen the bribery, lying and legislative cartwheels needed to get the final Bill to Obama’s desk. Now Obama, Reid and Pelosi are banking that they can go out and “sell” this to the American people over the next 8 months.

Obviously none of these people have any practical sales experience whatsoever as everything they’ve tied to use to sell it up to this point has failed, even though roughly 70% of Americans like Obama personally.

Granted, Republicans have proven an uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the past, but this time it’s different. Most people thought there was no way the Tea Party movement could stay engaged for as long as they have. By that same token, it’s obvious that Team Obama knows nothing about governing, they only know “campaign mode” with Exhibit A being David Pfloufe being brought back in for the final push.

People are sick of “campaign mode”, hell they were sick of it a year ago. But as we’ve just seen it matters not what the people think, and as long as that’s the mindset of the Left, the Republcans can make an extremely valid case for gridlock.

“I think we’re talking about a couple trillion dollars…of overage, not savings,” he said.”

Rush claims my premiums will go up at least 200% to 300% too… so I guess all we can do is wait and see.

I did notice some healthcare stocks have been rising the past few days – so at least someone thinks there is money to be made here. Never underestimate the smart investor… they are probably more in tune with the impact on the economy than any politician or columnist.

  6. And here’s what the One promised on the campaign trail:

    Q. I like my current insurance coverage. Will I have to change plans?

    A. No, you will not have to change plans. For those who have insurance now, nothing
will change under the Obama plan – except that you will pay less. Obama’s plan will
save a typical family up to $2,500 on premiums by bringing the health care system into
the 21st century: cutting waste, improving technology, expanding coverage to all
Americans, and paying for some high-cost cases.

    Here’s what the CBO says:

“CBO says: the bill includes a public plan paying negotiated rates, which “would attract a broad network of providers but would typically have premiums that were somewhat higher than the average premiums for the private plans in the exchanges.”

Sy, Obama’s approval rating is higher than Reagan’s was at the same point in their presidency. Get a clue.

Hard to compare approval ratings to Bush when Bush ran us into a war right away….and then convinced the American public that you are either with us or against us, so patriotism basically told the public that either they support the President or they are just as bad as a terrorist.

Great way to impact the poll numbers I guess.

I’ll let history decide who was a better leader – poll numbers don’t really change that. I’d bet Abraham Lincoln would of had pretty horrid poll numbers too, but history tells us his decision to buck the predominant view was correct. I’m not saying Obama’s vision for healthcare is correct by any means, but we really won’t know that for at least five years. If it leads us to an eventual single payer system and universal healthcare, I think history will be much more forgiving of him in the long run.
