15 Thoughts on “Does Snooki think she is above the law?

  1. Seems like the number keeps going up, now the total violations are 28. Snooki is on the move. Snooki is more like Speedy Gonzalez.

  2. Was Snooki texting while driving?

I wonder is she is related to “Wild Bill” Janklow.

  4. Or like Janks, wrapping the newspaper around the steering wheel so she can read and speed at the same time . . . wait . . . if she is like Sarah Palin, she doesn’t read.

I have to admit, it was a well done smear job. I like the site, and it definately gets your attention. You gotta admit the left can smear better than any. Am I fan? Nope. That many traffic violations tells me she has little regard for the law. We are better off with the Pelosi clone.

  6. No one smears like republicans, ie Club for Growth, Rove, Fox, the list is endless and don’t forget a couple of SD right wing web pages do a good job of smearing.

  7. Is it a smear job? Snooki is the one with bench warrants against her, not Princess Steffy. Seems Snooki is good at smearing herself. Thank gawd she hasn’t smeared someone all over the road.

  8. No Snooki’s problems are not smear jobs, I was commenting on Evenrude’s remark that the “left can smear better then any.”
Everyone on the right took lessons from Lee Atwater, so they know how to smear.

Where to start with this nonsense.

First of all a smear job would be twisting or distorting or even fabricating facts. In this case, the facts don’t appear to be in question, so it isn’t so much a smear as simply stating the facts that Noem has admitted to. Apparently she is doing a good job of “smearing” herself.

As to the left smearing better than any other, I’ll pass that along to the birthers, Karl Rove, talk radio, and those on the right who are still going out of their way to suggest Obama is a Muslim.

Finally the comment about the “Pelosi clone” only shows how you are obviously willing to accept unverified talking points from the Noem camp without doing any sort of research on your own.

Unfortunately, the facts don’t support that idea. Herseth-Sandlin does vote along party lines quite often I will grant you that, but in truth it isn’t substantially more or less than any other member of Congress.

Case in point, here are our elected leaders and their percentage of party line votes:

    Tim Johnson: 95.7%
    John Thune: 95.1%
    Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin: 91.6%

So that looks rather disgusting for all three at first glance, but it is much more important to look at key votes since 90% of what they are voting on are procedural votes or other bills which are generally unimportant or are created merely for bragging rights (political purposes).

So how do they fare up when we look at key votes? Well if you use the Washington Post analysis (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/) the numbers tell a different story:

Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin (out of 30 key votes):
    With Dems: 18 (60%)
    With Reps: 13 (43%)

Tim Johnson (out of 35 key votes):
    With Dems: 16 (46%)*
    With Reps: 11 (31%)*

*Note Johnson didn’t vote in 12 of these 35 key votes due to his leave of absense.

John Thune (out of 35 key votes):
    With Dems: 9 (26%)
    With Reps: 33 (94%)

Note out of the 9 times Thune voted with the recommendation of the Democrats, it just happened to be that 9 of those 9 times the Republicans supported the same position. Not exactly a reach across the aisle on his part.

The two votes where he didn’t vote along party lines included one where he didn’t vote and the other was to vote against a free trade agreement with several Central American contries which I beleive was due to concerns with the impact to our state’s agriculture trade.

As to Herseth-Sandlin, she has actually voted the opposite of Pelosi on several key votes including the stimulus, the health care bill, estate tax elimination, border security, and funding for Iraq that did not include a timetable for withdrawal.

Yea – but who can be bothered to spend 10 minutes doing a little research when it is so much easier to just beleive the talking points being spewed by her opponents? Once again I find justification for a mandatory test being held before people can vote.

  10. Oh, No Costner! Facts scare Republicans. They won’t comment here anymore.

  11. Excellent post Costner. Heaven knows no one would ever want to let facts and figures get in the way of right wing BS.

  12. Looks like ironic Johnny is the biggest offender. Imagine that.

Snooki favors driving and texting. She voted down a bill that would have prohibited composing, reading, or sending electronic messages while operating a motor vehicle. Bill failed because most of the r’s voted No.

  14. Okay so Kristi has a few speeding tickets…who doesn’t. I have to wonder if Stephanie would have some in S Dak IF should wouldn’t have stayed here but NO she had to get out of this state as fast as she could.
