As I predicted, he would be leaving after the budget process was over and the transition of a new director;

Mayor Mike Huether announced today that Gene Rowenhorst is retiring from his position of director of finance with the city of Sioux Falls.

Rowenhorst will remain with the city to assist in the transition until a new director is appointed.

“Gene has made so many positive things happen for the city of Sioux Falls,” Huether said in a news release. “I enjoyed working with him at Citi, and have enjoyed it even more in city government. I am so pleased he is sticking around to help us source his
replacement. I wish him and his wife nothing but the best during their retirement years.”

Rowenhorst was appointed director of finance on July 12, 2004.

4 Thoughts on “As I suspected, Gene Rowenhorst is bailing

  1. i wonder if his old buddy dave has a spot lined up for him at southeast?

  2. 33 Grand for four months of ‘work’? Not a bad gig, huh?

  3. Gene needs to retire, during the informational today he got tongue tied and said ‘Friend Fuck’ in the opening of his presentation.

  4. Are you sure this is not Neal Boortz? Or his long lost twin brother?
