Thune’s BFF thrown in jail

KELO-TV screenshot

I remember the first time I met John Thune, he was running for US Congress and Mr. Nelson was a client of the company I worked for. He brought Ironic Johnny by to meet the rest of us working stiffs. I wonder if John will be personally escorting him to Federal prison;

Sioux Falls businessman Dan Nelson was sentenced Thursday to two and a half years in federal prison for lying to several banks that were funding his used car dealerships.

While working on Nelson’s company’s business documents, you knew it was only a matter of time before someone was going to end up in jail. None of this surprises me, except that Ironic Johnny continues to wash his hands of his BFF Dan Nelson.

Dan Nelson was Thune’s campaign manager in 1995, when John Thune was running for the House of Representatives for the first time.

Pick me. I’ll do 2 years in prison to live 10 years of the high life via a multi-million dollar ponzi scheme. He has to pay reparations but that’s a bankruptcy escape clause over with in 6 months.

JR – I think you are thinking of the ‘other’ Dan Nelson, and I know he hates getting confused with car lot boy.

Has this seriously taken this long to actually come to the point of sentencing? Didn’t he commit these crimes years ago?

Swift justice my a$$.

Didn’t the Sioux Falls Chamber make Nelson the Small Business Man of The Year? We should all do business they way he does!!!

Also wasn’t Thune on the Board of Directors of the bank Nelson ripped off?

Yes he was!

This video says it all. That fucker should have been in a rubber room for at least 10-20 years for screwing over the working poor. Nothing chaps my hide more. It reminds me of the healthcare industry making a buck on sick people. Weird.

Helga – Hold your brakes. One Dan is a criminal, the other is a neo-con . . . which means . . . ok . . . I see your point.

Johnny T-man was on the board of the bank. See how fast he will turn on Dan the car man

Oh, he turned on him real quick.

Thanks for posting on this. I was one of his victims in Sioux City. It was a harsh lesson. It did teach me to be a better consumer and be careful whom I trust. I thought I could trust them because my husband was friends with him from way back. No such luck, we were treated as badly as everyone else.

When I used to typeset the documents customers had to sign for Dan’s Sham carlot business, we used to shake our heads and laugh. Not that someone would fall for this crap, but that it was even legal.

Damn right Thune knew what was going on.
