2000 people (how many from SF would be a wild guess) pay dues to the Sioux Falls Tennis Association. Yet every citizen of SF will help with a one time donation, AND upkeep for years to come? For a fabric dome? Think Metrodome. Think sinkhole. Do I as a contributor to this black hole get any consideration for playing time IF I were so inclined? Sure…but get in line. From the SFTA website.
“Do you have to be a member to play?
No, you would not have to be a member to play but club memberships would be available. Members would have privileges over guests. Such privileges would be the ability to make a court reservation 7 days in advance instead of a 4 day advance reservation. Members could reserve permanent court time, sign up for leagues earlier, have preferred league times, pay a lower rate for lessons and leagues.”
Yeah, Joe SixPack pays for yet another program that requires membership to have any chance to participate in.
It will be even a worse scenario for hockey. Think your kid can afford to play hockey? Call the youth hockey office and see how much it costs just to suit up.
I can’t figure out why all of a sudden sports that were meant to be played outside, have to be played inside. If you are a true athlete you will be willing to play outside come “hell or high water.”
I guess when I say tennis is ‘gay’ I don’t mean it in a homosexual sort of way. I just think it is a silly sport to be promoting on channel 16. I know more people in SF that play frisbee golf then play tennis. Are they gonna get their own show? No. Why? Because frisbee golf isn’t gay, tennis is.
No they are not because the Mayor’s wife doesn’t run frisbee golf, or hockey, or swimming, or badminton. You know what she runs? Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding – you guessed it – tennis. Disgusting. Using taxpayer dollars to promote his wife’s employment.
Does Mrs. Huether get paid for her duties? I think she volunteers her time. Just wanted to clarify that. Of course, that does not stop her from using her husband’s personal or city checkbook 🙂
