After firing a city clerk, allowing a city councilor to miss three regular meetings in a row with no repercussions, and giving themselves the power to approve contracts (even though they already had that power) now they decide they should probably discuss procedures? LMAO!

I wonder if they know that the EC vote was an advisory one, with only 6.7% of the population approving the building of the facility?

4 Thoughts on “SF City Council decides to discuss procedures after the fact

  1. You think it’s bad in SF. My current City Council consists of one (yes ONE) member who was actually elected by somone. EVERYONE ELSE – including the mayor – is either somone who was appointed (by the mayor) and/or has been unopposed in the last two or three electiuons and so – again – APPOINTED by default to their posiiton.

Recently, there has been a spate of 3 unopposed candidates (half the council) who later (after the election) decided they didn’t WANT to continue serving, and resigned – Sooo…. the mayor appointed a replacement – errr 3 replacements.

Procedures? What the heck are they. You mean we can’t just sit around and wisecrack about stuff and make decisions like we do down at the bar – or coffee shop? Oh!! Come OnNN Man!! Get with the program. This is South Dakota – nobody gives a rip anyhow – right? Well, unless you wanna talk about taxes – then we’re gonna get serious!

In addition, they recently had a run-in with a short-term City Admin. who they didn’t get along with (and who was quite the slacker as well) and fired him. Took three months to get them a new one, and so far, the first two months, he’s having a hard time learning what exactly his job is. At least he’s trying.

Sigh. Small town South Dakota. Ain’t it great?

Sounds like council policy is ‘Ready, Fire, Aim’.

  3. Alice, I saw that, I called Ellis and told him shortly after the poster went up someone pasted a picture of Kermit’s face over the top of it and was up for several days. I don’t think the airport staff is too quick to remove it, if not responsible for it. I think they should make it a magnetic board and let people ‘dress up the mayor’
