Picked up this bumper sticker yesterday at the ZW. I told the guy I was a Deist, but I was ‘on the fence’. And this lady standing by him said ‘Ben Franklin was a deist.’ And I said ‘That is why I am.’

5 Thoughts on “I am a Deist, but whatever . . .

  1. Thanks for the plug! Siouxland Freethinkers is a community of atheists & skeptics based here in Sioux Falls. We’ve been together for over a year, and have routine meetings & philanthropy events. So far we’ve had school supply drives, collected toys for christmas, have adopted a 1.5 mile stretch of highway, gone to the Reason Rally in Washington DC, go to atheist/skeptic conferences in the region, and raised a boatload of money for the Sioux Falls Autism Speaks walk.

Look for us at SLFT.org, or find us on Facebook.

  2. Woot! Deists are welcome to Siouxland Freethinkers, critical thinkers of any flavor. Believers in magical bullshit or dogma need not apply.

  3. Don’t you mean X-Mas?

Yeah, not a fan of dogma, but I am fond of magical bullshit.

  4. Do you collect the toys at Christmas to keep them from the kids because obviously you don’t believe in Christmas? Since it has the word Christ in it and mas, which would mean “more Christ”, what the hell is your group thinking? You’re athiests, less Christ…more highway cleanup.

  5. “less Christ…more highway cleanup.”

    🙂
