Steve is no stranger to local politics, he helped with getting Huether elected, he was the force behind the BID group and he helped get President Obama elected as his deputy campaign manager. Steve is no fan of Huether and once said to me,

“I will do anything I can to make sure Huether is not re-elected.”

No love lost between the two I guess.

I received an email this afternoon that Steve may be considering running against the mayor in 2014 from a reliable source. I hope Steve commits, it could make for an interesting campaign season next fall.

10 Thoughts on “Is Steve Hildebrand considering a run for mayor?

  1. That will cement a Huether second term. South Dakotan’s voting for a gay uberliberal…..I don’t think so.

  2. I really don’t believe mayoral elections follow party lines. I consider myself a pretty strong democrat in most things, but did not blink an eye when choosing Kermit over our so-called mayor with a (D) by his name.

  3. Say what you will whether Steve can win or not, Huether is totally fearing this. If there is something to find on Huether in his last four years or before, Steve will expose it and not think twice about it. As my daughter has now learned at an early age – what goes around, comes around. If Steve decides to run, Huether will be on edge and on the defense the entire time and we may now finally hear from Ms. Owens. This may be karma at its finest.

  4. I don’t think Steve is doing this to win. There are many others that will be running, including Greg Jamison, who has peaked interest. Let’s face the facts. Steve has dirt, he made a modest commission helping Huether get elected. He knows his subject matter. This is about exposing Mike. Something I knew WAY before Hildy even agreed to help him. He is a Two-Faced Dog, and it doesn’t take a successful political consultant to tell you that.

  5. Having Steve in the race could split the vote sufficiently to boost someone else into the Mayorship. Also, doesn’t that quote from Hildebrand sound familiar?

“The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

I’d thought of running. It’s not my game but I’d love to debate Huether and expose city corruption. At the last minute, I’d steer my votes and support any candidate who will repeal Home Rule Charter. I’ve spent some time rallying the American Legion and VFW. They’re angry that Huether has destroyed city democracy. I’ll be retired by then and would devote full effort removing Huether. Huether will not have time for campaigning. He’ll be busy with his defense and keeping paper shredders going at city hall.

They probably have there own diesel powered generator running them.

Debra Owen, please run for mayor. Pretty please. You know city politics and have a legal background. It’s hard for me to admit but the good old boys need a feminine force. I’m in your corner full time. Announce early so we can pick apart Huether like a buzzard circling road kill.

  9. Now this is good stuff! Where is the SDWC on this good bit of info?

  10. Gay Liberal Democrat bashing? DWC? Get out of here!
