Wow. Sometimes it’s the little things at the council meetings that makes you laugh, cry or just scratch your head. After listening to Rex Rolfing’s stab at last night’s invocation you would probably be left doing all three. And to think, I am afraid of some of the extreme things Manny Steele says. Rolfing’s version of a council ‘blessing’;

“The US Election of 2012 brought discord and division. The results left half the nation feeling disaster that could have been avoided and the other half felt ruin was near.” Then he quotes Martin Luther, “Christians should pray for bad leaders.”

Not sure ‘WHO’ Rolfing was talking about, but I will say this, even if I am not a Christian, I will still pray for him, the mayor and the rest of the council, even if I don’t think it will do much good.

3 Thoughts on “SF City Councilor Rex Rolfing’s FOX News influenced invocation

    does he mean pray so we get bad leaders, like we “pray for rain”, or does he mean pray for leaders who are bad. is he talking about obama, or heuther, or himself?

  2. I joked with a Republican yesterday that ‘It wasn’t very nice of Rex to criticize electing Noem.’

    While I am not a fan of the invocation to begin with, it bugs me when elected officials make it political. I find it sadly comical that Rolfing would criticize Washington (or whoever he was criticizing) yet has been a part of one the most entrenched special interest councils in recent history. At least under Munson there was a little dissension.

    There must be a separation of church and government. I’m not opposed to a clergy moment but not an elected official sermon. Perhaps his belief is that God condones the fraud at city hall. I’m not a theologian but Jesus had harsh words for profiteers at the front outside of the church.
