This morning, I was finally glad to merge on to the interstate on my way to work. It seemed the State DOT snow plow operators remembered to set their alarm clocks, I can’t say the same about the city.
Yes, I understand that the snow will probably be gone by 5 PM today, but would it have hurt anything to go out at about 5-6 AM this morning and plow the main arterials like Cliff, Minnesota, Marion and 41st Street with just one pass at least? The ridges down the middle of the road were so high, my car was hydro plaining at times, and the ridges were also holding back the water from flowing into storm gutters. A horrible mess that could have been corrected over a couple of hours by our Public Works Department.
I know money is tight, but it could not have cost that much to call in workers a couple of hours earlier to do a job they are already punched in to do on a normal Monday anyway.

I was north on 29 last night rescuing someone. There was a highway patrolman helping people. I encountered him changing a tire. Plows had gone by several times. I’m impressed with state services. Why can’t Sioux Falls be similar? Can we secede from this sovereign city and re-emerge with the state? Elect Huether governor and we’ll all be leaving the city and the state.
If you can’t drive in a little temporary snow, stay home and iron your sun dress. It’s the right call not to plow today.

The City has obviously implemented the “April Mentality” in May when it comes to this snow fall, which is fine with me. But what I hate is when they implement the “April Mentality” in November, December, January, February, March – a long with a preemptive, “spin-meister,” Sean Spicer style news conference excusing their snow removal plan for a pending storm before we even know how much snow we have or will get…..
But the street sweepers did come by my house the other day though. That’s good. Just like they use too in late April every year. However, back then, they also use to show up in mid July and mid November (To Get The Leaves!!!), too….. 🙁
Oh, that’s right, I forgot. I am not suppose to worry about things like that any more, rather I am suppose to buy a $ 130 concert ticket to the EC, pay $ 10 for a beer there, and relax…. Silly me…… (But I hate country music, I would rather rap….. 🙁 ????)

Snow doesn’t affect the mayor. He swims and plays tennis indoors with wealthy one percenters. This was a missed opportunity to bring out the ‘Jesus’ plows on a Sunday night. If you can’t get elected Governor, try for televangelist.
