Oooo! Open subject. How about Mayoral quell for Public Comment? My peave is the city considering itself worthy of a veterans cemetery. When city administration is not veterans and fails to acknowledge due process, are they worthy of sponsoring a final resting place for veterans? It’s another golf contract for somebody’s brother in law living in Nebraska.

I listened to the erpenbach interview she did yesteday via podcast. If you do not follow what goes on week by week, item by item, vote by vote, one would think you were listening to a great civil servant. Problem is, it is not what she says, it is what she did week by week, item by item, vote by vote.

  3. I unfortunately listened also. She acts like she worked so hard for the city over the past 17 years. When she sat on the parks board she made sure her son had a summer job with the parks department. Wonder if he even had to fill out a W-4? She has a reputation of never returning phone calls or emails with constituents, and when she does, they are usually snotty emails about how she is right. I was impressed though that she admitted to being a Daschle Democrat. She most certainly is. Daschle’s wussy approach to leadership as head of his party is the reason I left the party when he wouldn’t take a stand against GW and the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. One of my friends that knows Michelle pretty good said to me recently, “Michelle is one of the most liberal people I know.” I started laughing and said, “You must not know too many liberals.”

What bothered me most about the erpenbach years on the council? She represented about 35,000 people in the central district, about 22,000 of which are registered voters. That constituency is the poorest of the 5 districts. Household income under 40,000 a year is not how she voted on issues important to them. Her votes alined perfectly with those who contributed to her campaign warchest.

  5. Some Democrats still see themselves as liberals. They make sure to have all of the obvious cards in hand. They use their support for choice, gay rights, and civil rights in general, to exemplify their claimed liberalism, but when in power their eventual ways resemble the sad evolution of the swine as found in the book ‘Animal Farm.’

A true liberal does not sign off on contracting with firms that are currently under OSHA criminal investigation for alleging causing the death of one of their workers. A true liberal does not allow a Parks Board to be all white. And a true liberal uses actions and not nomenclature, in order to prove their true liberalism….
