Well you know what they say, you catch more bees with honey. Senator Thune said this about the 2nd attempt to address the trade war, “We know that the president likes to eat crappy food, so we thought this would be a great follow-up letter.”

I asked Thune since he was 3rd in line for GOP leadership in Washington couldn’t he just pick up the phone and call Trump?

Thune seemed confused and said, “Interview over.”

  1. Recently, Noem said this is all China’s fault. If so, then how can Trump help?

The Trade War is a detrimental problem for SD. Soybean prices are at a level where farmers will be lucky to break even this year. Tariffs help industry but hurt farm states. China has other sources for grain. They’ve relaxed tariffs on the Russian continent and they’re closer (less transportation cost). Trump has been winning on most subjects because of his radical approach. I’m not so sure it will work for agriculture.

south dakota could have a repeat if the 80’s farm crisis, and still praise trump.

  7. Scott, you have identified Dusty’s strategy. Identify the crisis, say Washington isn’t doing enough, but don’t blame Trump.
