UPDATE: Look what a little bitching will get yah. Sorry if I gave the FAB guys crap about this. Looks nice!

There is also another great jazz concert scheduled for tonight! I was actually surprised how good the crowd was for a Wednesday Night, and things are going very smoothly. For this just starting, the Levitt staff and volunteers are knocking it out of the park. GOOD JOB!

I also found out that a local bike club was asked to put in bike racks or at least put their two cents in and are looking to do something more permanent by next year. I was going to take a picture of about 6 bikes last night tied to one light post, made me chuckle. Bikers are always innovative when they need to be.

8 Thoughts on “UPDATE: Another Great Night at the Levitt!

  1. I don’t think that’s exactly the case on the bike racks in terms of dropping the ball but there are efforts to make it work.

    I corrected it, but it was kind of relayed to me that they were asked and lost track of the deadline or something like that. But glad to see you are working on it, even though, as I told this person, you would think you would have budgeted in bike racks on a $4 million dollar project without having to ask a bike club to assist. There used to be a city program thru the Visual Arts Commission that purchased ‘artistic structure’ bike racks from local artists/fabricators.

  3. I too am disappointed that more thought was put in on the front side. It’s not from lack of asking, I can tell you that. As you know, sometimes many opinions make a light soup.

  4. Also, I think we’re getting some traction on the bike trail after 10 issue. At least some attention.

    Is there a place where a guy can park his pedal pub there, too? Or, is one just forced to pedal their pub in a circle to hear the music and give the appearance that they keep moving?

  6. I have asked for more information regarding the program that installed bike with the Visual Arts Commission. I have not found out if there are any funds or racks left from that program.

    Yeah, that program was well over 10 years ago and the city council had to appropriate the money for it. Like I said, it could have just been put in the budget for the Levitt, and you don’t need to spend a lot to be creative;

    Are any of those “art”-commissioned bike rack projects still around? I remember them as being too poorly designed to even hold a bike, and they SAS scratched up the bike paint if used. Seemed like a good deal for the guy who took the money though.
