The Paul Erickson/Maria Butina saga gets even more interesting by the day;

“When the person who marries you gets into trouble with the Russians and your job is to negotiate with the Russians, you have to disclose that,” a senior administration official told me. “Everybody with an intelligence clearance knows that.”

Rep. Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.), the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, said Thompson’s situation was symptomatic of larger staffing issues plaguing the Trump administration.

“From clumsy vetting to chronic failure to fill vacant positions, it’s no wonder there’s such dysfunction in the executive branch,” Engel said. “The White House needs to get its act together to make sure the officials in charge of protecting our national security meet the highest standards and comply fully with all laws and regulations on disclosure.”

The collusion delusion continues . . .

    Back in August of 1981, Paul and some of his fellow National College Republican friends built a temporary wall consisting of barb wire and cinder blocks around the Aeroflot ticket office in DC to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Berlin Wall…. Speed roughly forty years later, and Paul and his friends now create a conduit for a former KGB agent (Putin) to the US State Department. It’s amazing what capitalism can do to a person sometimes, isn’t it? And to think, it was all spurned by a “former” commie….

    What is really amazing though, is that in college Reagan wasn’t conservative enough for Paul. Initially, he supported “I’m in charge here” Haig. And he use to carry around USD a book about MacArthur entitled, “American Caesar.” So how does a supporter of MacArthur and Haig ended up as an enabler to Putin, unless money talks?…. There’s that capitalism again, but then again MacArthur, Haig, and Putin all think, or thought, they were, or are, in charge, didn’t, or don’t, they?

    My life is so boring. I don’t have a Russian spy girlfriend. However, I did sit beside Alexander Haig in first class once. We talked about nothing much. He seemed pleased he could relate with Joe the Plumber. I met Jimmy Dean, Ansell Williams, and Gene Autry too. Jimmy Dean was in an elevator at One Main Place in Dallas. Ansell Williams was in an airport concourse when my girlfriend shouted out ‘Potsee’. Gene Autry was business with Golden West Broadcasters in LA. They were later acquired by Times Mirror.

    Oh, and Gloria Vanderbilt at a hotel lounge in Portland ME. She talked about her son Anderson Cooper. I didn’t like Al Neuharth when I worked on earth station locations for USA Today. He tended to just piss everybody off.

    What kind of church-goin’ Republican has Paul Erickson as an officiant at their wedding?

    Right?! The foot soldier that sent me the link thought it was strange to. I have two friends in SF that officiate weddings, I think the license only costs $100.

    Ooooo, in the comment section of the piece linked by ‘Another friend of Paul’s’, juicy details of infidelity and alienation of affection (is that eligible for civil suit in Australia, too?).
    Perhaps that explains securing Paul Erickson as the officiant for the wedding.
    Nah, a career military woman, oft on the move and seldom at one station of duty for an extended period of time – Thompson simply was not afforded the opportunity to establish a solid, deep-rooted pastoral relationship with clergy. LOL.

    Your information that Andrea Thompson is married to Wilbert H Frazier is incorrect. In fact she is married to retired Australian Army Brigadier David Gillian, with whom she served in Afghanistan under Mike Flynn. Brigadier Gillian also worked for Mike Flynn in Afghanistan. Thompson commenced an illegal (under US military law) affair with Gillian (then married with an Australian wife) in Afghanistan. This affair was eventually exposed during Gillian’s (and his wife’s) subsequent posting to Washington while Flynn was head of the US DIA. At the time Flynn was attempting to get Gillian promoted to work for him at DIA. Gillian was removed from his position and returned to Australia whereafter he resigned from the Australian Army. Thompson’s tenure as brigade commander of 902 Intelligence Group also ended. Gillian returned to the US, leaving his wife in Australia, to continue the affair and work with Thompson for the McCrystal Group. He eventually divorced his Australian wife and married Andrea in June 2017. McCrystal, Flynn,Thompson, Gillian…it’s a small and well connected world…

    Andrea Thompson married retired Australian Brigadier General David Gillian in June 2017. Check her facebook page. She had an affair with him which started in 2010 in ISAF, Afghanistan. This relationship is so was condoned by Mary Legere and Mike Flynn. Maybe you can check out more details by contacting his ex wife. BG David Gillian was ‘sacked’ from his job at the Australian Embassy in Washington DC, in July 2012, as he had lied on his security clearances, and had compromised the US Australian strategic alliance.
