Is the SD GOP turning into the Party of Domestic Terrorism?

Nothing should surprise us anymore in the world of Trumplicanism. Just look reich here in Sioux Falls where we have city funded theocracy in our government, anywhere from snowplows to Sunday school classes (youth council).

But this past week we had a few eye openers when we found out members of our legislature were members of the Anti-Government group called the Oath Keepers, a right wing, militia, white nationalist, anti-government group. State legislators, Phil Jensen and Jim Stalzer have said very little about their involvement. But I will. Not only should they be removed from the legislature immediately, they should be sitting in Federal Prison for treason. It’s one thing to be upset that our tax dollars went to these obvious jackasses, it’s another thing to commit treason. Their membership was a violation of their oath they took while serving in the legislature. That is called treason, it doesn’t have any other definition.

Then there is the case of the AG Rumblestrips getting away with killing a man while playing with his phone, or the governor abusing her power when it comes to using state airplanes and helping her daughter pass a quiz (heard she flunked numerous times).

Oh, then we had this fantastic event at the SD State Fair where the opposing party, Fair security, the local police and the sheriff’s office refused to intervene on these terrorist like acts;

This year, pro-Trump idiots repeatedly invaded the South Dakota Democratic Party Building. They harassed and swore at volunteers, destroyed campaign material and tried to record and harass Democrats who were simply seeking to communicate with fellow South Dakotans.

I think we are beyond the ‘Basket of Deplorables’ at this point. Let’s call a spade a spade. This is an act of domestic terrorism being disguised as partisan politics and enabled by the kook bird krazies called the SD Republican Party.

Why aren’t party leaders denouncing this? Maybe because the party leader Iowa Dan is too busy trying to help his Iowan business buddies run a muck pipeline through our state.

How can we stop this madness? Stop electing these clowns would be the first step. But with the ones that still remain, we need to bring charges, arrest them and prosecute them. This is not just political bullying, these acts violate local, state and federal laws, punishable by fines, resignation and jail time.

While I tend to be a turn the other cheek when it comes to the violent nature of these ass clowns, we can fight them with FREE speech. Talk to your friends about how the SD GOP has become the party of domestic terrorism, and be genuine and very vocal about it. Let’s stop treating this like a partisan FB and Twitter fight and call it what it really is. Maybe voters who actually believe in peace and justice will step up and throw them to the curb. We can’t sustain 50 more years of this Authoritarian Fascist state in South Dakota. Something has got to give.

Which party affiliation needed to be tear gassed at our mall and were violent with our cops? Hmmm.

Small minded with a small view.

#2 Theocratic Republic of SD on 10.24.21 at 4:38 pm

Pretty simple. Promote a boycott of the 2022 and future South Dakota State Fairs. If there is a dramatic drop in attendance with a shuttered SDDP building along with revenue dropping action will be taken. Posters of the article could be placed on the SDDP building.

Phil Jenson is very good American, have had very good email conversations with him. HE is NOT ‘anti government’.

I think this little war between the parties is related to:

Federalism vs Anti-Federalism – and that is a great thing.

I would be considered a Anti Federalist and proud of it. That does NOT mean I am against government.

#4 Very Stable Genius on 10.24.21 at 4:57 pm

Well written, I have little to add, however, but isn’t it amazing how Lyndon LaRouche politics has become so mainstream not only in South Dakota, but nationally?

Part of this reality comes from a power vacuum which is beginning to sadly form in our partisan politics, where the crazies are the only ones trying to feel in this vacuum. AND, when that happens, this is what happens.

What contributes to this power vacuum is a lack of interest from well mined young people to get involved in our politics today. I was at a rally early today, well attended, but I saw very few young people there.

Our politics, especially on the left side, are for the most part being held up by the Baby Boomers, who were once scared by Vietnam and Watergate. Generations since then have had it easy, or easier, and it has created a laziness in our politics which has then allowed for the crazies to flourish in our overall politics, I am afraid.

If anything is going to give, which will be positive, it will require getting more young people involved in the process once again, which is easy to say, but hard to do.

( and Woodstock adds: “Who would have ever thought, that we would need another Vietnam?”…. )

Oh, LJL, you continue to be a f’ing prick, you just can’t resist. As for Mike, there is no hope for you. You seem to understand how government works, you just don’t understand how it can work for you. People who belong to domestic terrorist organizations are NOT GOOD PEOPLE, they are treasonous terrorists that need to be breaking stones on top of the rock pile.

As for the party that was gassed at the Empire Mall, I don’t know what latch-key, 6th graders call themselves that are high on mac and cheese and Mountain Dew, but they certainly were not giving firearm lessons to adult domestic terrorists.

I agree the SD Dem party should boycott the state fair, they should also boycott the legislature and all resign and watch the one-party rule weirdos destroy our state. Wouldn’t it be funny to have 100% Republicans run our state government? Who would they blame when things fail? Cory Heidelberg’s Blog. LOL.

#6 Very Stable Genius on 10.24.21 at 5:08 pm

For some reason, attacking a mall does not scare me as much as having some walk up The National Mall and attack our democratic institutions on Capitol Hill, but that’s just me.

Maybe it also has something to do with the fact that George Floyd was murdered – It’s fact – while the election was not stolen, which is also fact.

Oh, and one more point: Can you be an anti-federalist and still believe that South Dakota should have as many US Senators as California? I don’t think so.

( and Woodstock adds: “Speaking of malls, I still can’t believe that Banana Republic left South Dakota”… “It was so fitting, I thought”…. )

south dakota still has a state fair?

#8 Name thankfully no longer in quotes on 10.24.21 at 6:24 pm

I agree that a dem boycott is a great idea. Would be the largest turnout the fair has ever had. Guaranteed huge crowd if everyone knew no Lina there.

#9 Mike Zitterich on 10.24.21 at 8:54 pm

Again, ANTI FEDERALISM is not an attack on the fedral government, it is about enforcing “STATE RIGHTS” and making sure the central government restricts itself to it’s Article 1 Section 8 Duties. IF NOT, then that government has to be dealt a blow, as Thomas Jefferson once said, every so many years, the people must rise up and take down a tyrannical government.

What we are seeing is a good old fashion Federalists vs Anti-Federalists.

Democrats are mad people who want their so called Democracy, but “WE” want to protect and restore the REPUBLIC of 50 Sovereign States.

How am I a treasonist? I am an American Citizen of the Republic. My loyalties are to South Dakota, NOT the Federal Govt or some other State of this Union.

From the link to Tom Lawrence’s piece: “The State Fair does not condone this type of behavior,” she [State Fair Manager Besch] told me. “Since no crime was reported and there is no evidence of wrongdoing, the department will refrain from commenting on the free speech rights of individuals.”

I suppose that a LEO would need to observe the act in flagrante delicto to provide the strongest case for prosecution, but public urination is considered a crime.
If not, can’t wait to see more individuals exercising their free speech rights on the midway of the State Fair (and avoiding bathroom lines, too).

It seems the Trump war has inspired revolution across the nation. Is Trump the last antichrist per Nostradamus prediction? The turmoil was always there but it seems to have become organized and dangerous. Our worst enemy is ourselves. We witnessed the Soviet Union crumble. Now, China and Korea enjoy watching us.

Trump’s latest attack has been with a crypto fund that Wall Street is buying heavy into. It has no value and will be another Trump bankruptcy. This combined with crypto currency could very well drain the economy leading to a recession and civil war.

#12 D@ily Spin on 10.25.21 at 12:19 pm

It’s important that we get Cleopatra out of the governors office and politics altogether. It’s also time for the billionaires who own us to die of old age. I live here because it’s a fly over state with fundamental living standards. It will be easier to control politicians if we can keep them busy prosecuted from murder, porn, and fraud.

#13 rufusx on 10.25.21 at 1:15 pm

Mike Zitterich – Take the kind of advice I get from “conservatives” who tell me to “just move” if I don’t like the way the local government is behaving. Secede!! Oh that’s right, that’s been tried before. How’d it turn out then? IIRC it established with EMPHASIS the SCOTUS rulings that states’ rights were INFERIOR to the rights established in the US Constitution – that there is no “leaving” or lording over the US Constitution by petit princes (or princesses) such as the likes of you and the governess.

Scottie you communist, you’ve got it all wrong….as usual

What you are seeing is AMERICANS that are finally pissed off enough at you commies, we are actually going to start doing something about it. And if you commies keep acting up, we will take care of it!

My lord, George Floyd, stupid argument. Career criminal, puts gun to pregnant woman’s belly so others can rob her, puts drugs up his ass-and admits it to cops during the arrest-so he can get a quicker high, yes poster boy for the commie left!

Maxine Watters telling all the other commies to harass elected officials in public, with their families, wherever you see them.

Burning down large portions of Minneapolis, trashing Portland, Seattle, Baltimore, etc.

People following Dems at their place of work, using the restroom, videotaping the encounter…

I don’t have enough time in my day to list all the shit you commies have done!!!! But…..if that is what you want , we can play that, too. The state fair is just the beginning!

#15 l3wis on 10.25.21 at 1:56 pm

The aforementioned Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington are less dependent on federal funds than SD. Maryland state government requires less federal aid than SD. SD is just another low tax-low service red state that relies on blue state higher tax-higher service states to make ends meet. SD is not capable of supporting its citizens or government without a constant flow of federal dollars. It’s laughable to suggest that some sort of culture of self sufficiency exists here.

Urinating on a sign isn’t quite domestic terrorism. That’s typical South Dakota hooliganism. What bothers me more is the face-to-face demeaning and harassing of people. It’s always a group of people doing the harassing. This Trumpian-style cowardice is on par with the Nazi tactics as Hitler rose to power. It strikes me that “coward” sort of sums up a lot of Republicans these days. They ignore the same sort of behavior from Trump, and seem unable to control it as it metastasizes at state fairs. Dusty, or the rest of the state delegation, can’t seem to bring themselves to call out Trump, or even the state fair hooligans. Cowards.

But what is the point of this comment? Based on Maxine’s logic a prostitute could never be raped.

Then Maxine anyone writes:

“Maxine Watters telling all the other commies to harass elected officials in public, with their families, wherever you see them.”

Does Maxine remember Trump’s Twitter account? Which came first?

And finally Maxine anyone writes:’

“Burning down large portions of Minneapolis, trashing Portland, Seattle, Baltimore, etc.”

“large portions”? Really? I drove down Lake Street and in the background you can see the entire and healthy skyline of downtown Minneapolis.

Maxine anyone’s inaccuracies are indicative of the Trump era and are very Trumpian. The problem is them and not us, because we are factual.

#21 l3wis on 10.26.21 at 10:32 am

The definition of the word terrorize is very broad, ‘create and maintain a state of extreme fear and distress in someone’ , what they did at the fair was a form of terrorism.

#22 Mike Zitterich on 10.26.21 at 10:34 am

Every State gets the same equal rate of Federal Funds, I am sick and tired of Democrats claiming South Dakota receives more in federal funds. ANYONE who understands the Constitution would understand that the Article 1 Indirect Taxes of Excises, Duties, and Imposts fund the Federal Territorial Properties, Services, and General Government. They are to be equally applied to all 50 States.

It is the huge unfunded Democrat Party Progressive “programs” that throw a curveball in that wrinkle allowing Americans to qualify for Tax Subsidies, Credits, and Other Federal Monetary Funds.

IF you do not want federal hand outs, then simply Stop begging for them, let alone accecpting them. But do not blame your “State Government” for accepting them when you, yourself and your fellow Americans are taking them.

Funny, it is the Democrat Party wishing to “expand medicaid” in South Dakota, not the Conservative, Republican, Anti-Federalist Americans. IT is the Democrat Party that is supporting federal policies that will hand out more in federal aide than the Republicans.
IT is the Democrat Party that is supporting handing out all the COVID-19 Money to those who choose not to work.

IF, you are so upset with taking federal grants, tax subsidies, credits, monetary funds, then YOU yourself will challenge your Governors, Mayors, Legislators, City Councils to STOP taking them, but yet, “I” seem to be the only one at those City COuncil Meetings as of late demanding that ‘WE” stop taking federal money, while the Democrat/progressive individuals scream bloody murder.

I have asked the City Council to adjoin with the S.D Legislature in holding the Federal Govt Accountable, and stop taking Federal Funds, where do you stand?

– Mike Zitterich

#23 Very Stable Genius on 10.26.21 at 12:01 pm

Mike,

Did you check the Argus today? Republicans at a Black Hills retreat started to talk about expanding Medicaid.

Oh, and federal dollars might be equally applied, but they are not equally collected. South Dakota is a what Mitt Romney would call a “taker”.

AND, don’t get me going on our number one economy in South Dakota, which is agriculture. It’s been on the federal dole since the 1930s.

Interesting, I call out all people equally for taking Federal Grants, Tax Subsidies, Credits, Federal Funds, and all a democrat or progressive, or whatever you all want to be today only get mad if Farmers or Corporations take susbsidies or federal monies, but do not speak out against Tax Subsidies and Credits for ALL. As if you all think it makes it ok for one, but not the other.

Let me put it bluntly – If you are living off Federal Grants, Tax Subsidies, Credits, Federal Monies, you are a Taker, a “USER”, a “Freeloader”, whether you are a Individual or a Corporation or a Farmer, period.

I keep it real, I do not speak against one, or the other, I speak out ALL PERSONS who take Federal Money. Period.

NO ONE should ask, beg for, nor take from Federal Taxes, my model is “Ask nothing from them, do not pay them nothing, maintain your sovereignty 100%”.

As a ANTI-FEDERALIST – I do not want the Federal Government in my life, period. I, like Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, Patrick Henry see the Federal Govt as allowing a tyrannical foreign government into your State, which is why we speak out so much about holding the Federal Govt accountable for their actions, restricting them to their Article 1 Section 8 Delegated Responsibilities, and keeping them out of our “Sovereign Right to Self Govern” our State, Individual Properties, etc.

And for your information, I do support the repeal of Amendments 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17 to restore the Constitution back to it’s original intent. And NO, I do not support slavery, nor enslaving any person to any form of involuntary servitude.

If you want to speak out against tax subsidies, then speak out against them Equally on “everyone” who has ever begged for them, taken them, period.

Pay the Federal Govt NO INCOME TAX, do not Take from them, ONLY pay the ‘federal taxes” you are lawfully suppose to pay, those excises, duties, and imposts.

Capiche.

Mike,

Do you realize that if you repeal the 14th, then the 2nd Amendment only applies to an American citizen if they find themselves in federal court on a federal question? Do you really want to do that as a gun supporter?

AND, how long have you had these confederate tendencies? Did Granny influence you?

Does a pipeline in US or SD law forfeit its easement (or have to seek additional approvals and/or pay additional easement fees) when it is converted from carrying one type of substance to another or carrying substances in a different direction than originally permitted? For example a pipeline converted to carry fiber optics has historically been outside its easement rights and had to pay additional fees to the landowners. Is a pipeline built to carry CO2 also able to carry ethanol on the off days or maybe Bakken crude?

#36 Mike Zitterich on 10.27.21 at 8:51 pm

Yes, I know what happens when we repeal amendments 12, 13, 14, 16, 17.

I do not look at myself as a U.S Citizen, as my “Domain” is inside South Dakota’s borders, which makes me a AMERICAN CITIZEN of the Republic of South Dakota.

The 2nd Amendment ‘protects” my right to own and carry a firearm, or any kind of arms in order to protect myself, my family, my neighbors, my property, my state.

Article 15 of the State Constitution allows me and my fellow American Citizens to form a Militia, Regulate the that Militia, and my Governor is our Commander in Chief of that Militia. ALL Protected by the 2nd Amendment which the Federal Govt cannot pass a law to disrespect that right.

I have said long ago, I am a ANTI-FEDERALIST who sides more with Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, and Patrick Henry.

I guess I am not the only one in this city either, since we have named ‘schools’ after two of those guys, and would be nice if the next school is named George Mason Elementary or Junior High.

I am proud to be an American Citizen in a State that takes pride in protecting my Individual Property Rights, allows me to “Avoid” the Federal Income Tax thanks to our Trust savvy laws, and allows me to Protect My Property by owning a firearm, and participate in the State Militia and/or State Guard.

The majority of South Dakotans making up the Great State of South Dakota, which is 500,000 people most likely agree with me by whom they are electing to represent them in the 35 Legislative Districts, and we continue to elect strong leaders, individauls who think like me, which makes the majority of South Dakota “ANTI-FEDERALIST” just like me.

Does that answer your question,

#37 Very Stable Genius on 10.27.21 at 9:40 pm

If you repeal the 14th, the 2nd becomes moot in terms of any gun ownership rights. In fact, before Heller in 2008, gun ownership rights under the federal constitution had never been established, and some say they still haven’t been established, because Heller dealt with a fact pattern involving a gun ownership issue found within DC, a federal district.

If you get rid of the 14th, then the 2nd becomes once again legally illuminated as nothing but a means and right to protect the existence of state militias, which have since been replaced by National Guard units, which further makes the 2nd moot.

#38 l3wis on 10.27.21 at 10:10 pm

I have told my gun nut friends that the 2nd Amendment has been moot for years. It was about the regulation of a militia and controlling a slave population and nothing else, its in the Amendment. Read it. To think it is about personal protection is ludicrous. I have often said it should be repealed and replaced with something about modern times. I still don’t own a gun and don’t understand why I need one. I don’t hunt, I don’t belong to militia groups, and I don’t crap shoot or deal drugs.

#39 Still Questioning on 10.28.21 at 9:27 am

l3wis, if the anti-constitutionals, like Mike and the like-minded, believe they can cherry pick to create their version of the constitution to believe in.

I continue to ask, do they really believe in the principles that built the USA?

The writers at the US Constitutional convention believed they could protect the minority of any group from the authoritarian majorities. Each one of the 38 members of that convention was a minority wanting their rights protected. To protect the right of one, the right had to be respected by the other 37 so great compromises had to be made.

Authoritarians like ljl and Mike only believe their perceived right to abuse someone else is more important than anything else.

Our Constitution allows all of us a chance to live without fear of the state or neighbor taking from us. Now the authoritarians, who likely should never see a gun or bullet, are trying to use the gun and bullet to create fear and terror to silence the minority rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

The creation of fear by one against another is abuse and is domestic terrorism plain and simple. If I choose to threaten a car lot of insurance agency, I could be arrested. If I threaten to kill or maim another with a weapon, it is a crime.

The authoritarians believe they can threaten without penalty and then take way the rights of the minority.

#40 Very Stable Genius on 10.28.21 at 9:53 am

The one thing no one talks about is what the Articles of Confederation states about arms. It offers a much greater explanation of the whole militia concept and its relationship with gun ownership, and does much to further explain how the 2nd amendment is about protecting the existence of militias and not personal gun ownership itself.

Although, the A of C is no longer enforceable for obvious reasons. It does offer a very fair window into the mentality of that time in our history and what was really meant by a 2nd Amendment that speaks of militias and arms:

from the Articles of Confederation:

“…. nor shall any body of forces be kept up by any state, in time of peace, except such number only, as in the judgment of the united states, in congress assembled, shall be deemed requisite to garrison the forts necessary for the defence of such state; but every state shall always keep up a well regulated and disciplined militia, sufficiently armed and accoutered, and shall provide and constantly have ready for use, in public stores, a due number of field pieces and tents, and a proper quantity of arms, ammunition and camp equipage…. “

#41 Very Stable Genius on 10.28.21 at 10:06 am

One of the great ironies of this whole 2nd Amendment discussion, or thought, is that it makes those who are left of center, and arguing the militia argument, to be the originalists when it comes to the 2nd Amendment, while gun owner activists, who are generally more conservative, are advocating a judicial activist approach to the 2nd Amendment to protect gun ownership rights. But the originalist position by the left is inevitable when there is an absence of case law, less the Heller decision, while the right grasps for footing by exercising a legal mulligan, via judicial activism (Heller) and a political narrative pushed by the NRA since 1968, to find, or claim, an established legal precedent.
