Got Wood?

Don had no problem interviewing De about all things quality of life but when it came to interviewing Kermit, Don had this to say;

I asked Staggers for an interview, but he refused to talk to me on camera about why he’s running again.

Yes, this is true, he refused to talk to YOU! But Kermit did agree to speak with ANY OTHER reporter at KELO. See, Don likes to throw Kermit under the bus any and everytime he interviews him, including the time Darrin Smith fed Don a fake junket story about Kermit (even though the money was already allocated and Kermit was the only councilor that volunteered to go on the trip).

Don, maybe it’s not Kermit, maybe it is you? No wait, it is YOU!

And you wonder why Stormland-TV has to steal stories from the Argus and blogs?

16 Thoughts on “KELO-TV’s Don Jorgensen misleads the public about an interview with Staggers

I love their recent handling of Judge Barnett’s decision
concerning the extension of the permits for the Hyperion
Refinery. Don completed the story by saying construction for the refinery will begin in March of 2013. That’s completely false. Barnett just extended the validity of the current air quality permits until March of 2013. If you go to the Hyperion website they still claim construction is to begin in 2010 (go figure?).

Why doesn’t Kelo tell the real story about Hyperion. That
one, the Elk Point site is only one of many potential sites for the new refinery. That two, the family trust fund which will be used to fund the refinery is tied up in court. That three, its dependence upon tar sands oil is dubious at best given the Obama administrations opposition to thepromotion of the highly carbon toxic tar sands oil (i.e., why do you think they killed the Keystone Pipeline project.), and fourthly, have you notice they no longer
can get Hyperion representatives to go on camera. Kelo
has lost any investigative qualities it ever had and has become nothing but a economic development tool of the
Chamber, the Governor, and our subprime Mayor.

  2. Well because KELO is stupid. What was the rush to do a story about who is running for the AT-Large Seat? The petitions don’t have to be filed for another 7 days. Why couldn’t Don or any other reporter do individual interviews with each candidate and put a story together for next Friday? What was the big rush? This isn’t some breaking story like Huether getting a hair cut or Tex Golfing missing his 20th council meeting.

  3. Is that picture of her and the wood in the convertable real?

  4. Yup, no photoshopping there.

  5. She’s doing a great job steering with her right elbow! And she’s obviously a person of vision – at least peripheral vision.
Seriously, though, this gets my nomination for unphotoshopped political pic of the day.

  6. I can’t vote for anybody who gets their hairstyle ideas from the Three Stooges.

  7. N’yuck, N’yuck, N’yuck!

I once met a Dupont at his private airport north of Philadelphia. He was loading hay bales into the back of his Mercedes station wagon. No flights were expected that year. Bought an aeronautical chart from the clerk at the flight service desk. Our city leaders are so rich from kickbacks they’ve become Howard Hughes insane.

Sad city. Corruption abounds. Brookings is also Home Rule Charter. There’s a case there headed to court. Perhaps, some day, the state will revoke the Sioux Falls charter.

  10. don jorgensen? Have not heard a word out of his biased flap since Paige Pearson rode into town.

  11. Yeah, she is pretty good.

  12. Yeah, she is. The first day I watched her broadcast was just after watching Lisa Hasselbeck hawking her book. I asked my wife if she could understand anything she was saying. She talks waaaay to fast in a high pitched frenzy. Then Paige came on. Talks just right. A voice for radio and a face for television. Til she starts blowing political like jorgie, I’ll continue to watch. There was a time when you had to be a card carrying repub to work for KSFY…have not noticed that lately. Hope it stays that way.

It is Monday morning. Do you think Don has sobered up from the weekend yet?

  14. That photo reminds me of what Teddy Roosevelt once said.

“Drive slowly and carry a bunch of big sticks”.

Well ok it wasn’t exactly like that, but it was close.

Do you think he drinks ZIMA’s in his tanning bed 🙂

There is a solid chance of that – regardless – you made me laugh at the visual. I am sure he thinks just highly enough of himself to sport a Speedo also.
