Like I have said in the past, I hoped and prayed Ironic Johnny would run, but I knew, it was all posturing just to get his name out there;
Sen. John Thune announced today that he will not run for president in 2012.
The two-term senator has spent months deliberating what he has described as a “gut-level†decision on his possible bid for the presidency.
In today’s statement, Thune said, “There is a battle to be waged over what kind of country we are going to leave our children and grandchildren and that battle is happening now in Washington, not two years from now. So at this time, I feel that I am best positioned to fight for America’s future here in the trenches of the United States Senate.”
Thune also added,
“We all know my pecker always points in the direction the wind is blowing, I mean, really, folks, unlike Dems, I try not to piss in the wind, but I never turn down a reach around.”
