Private cell phone calls in public can be intrusive and arrogant. I don’t need to know your private in my public.

    Try some loud statements:
    “Tip her, she got naked”
    “That’s not your wife”
    “Stop hogging the bong”
“Did you put a hundred on number 6”
“I need ten thousand for giving you this city contract”

  2. I get really annoyed when I am shopping and get behind somebody talking on their cell phones. My opinion is the only people that really have to have their phones turned on in public are medical personal that might be on call.

  3. I recently read an article about a high-end restaurant in NY. It started off with the owners investigating a bad yelp review that complained about slow service, but led into a comparison of operations between now and ten years ago. Technically, the slow service complaint was correct, but it wasn’t due to the staff. The table turnover had indeed doubled, but it was because the vast majority of customers are now on their phones/tablets/computer through their entire stay. They’re checking email and twitter before their order. They’re taking pictures of their food and uploading them. Servers have to return to the tables multiple times as they’re not ready to order due to online activity. Yet it’s the restaurant’s fault.
