Chuck had some notables on the SuFuStu show yesterday;
Huether? Mayor. (Lalley did give him heck about dodging the question, and Chuck said, “A total dodge”)
Hildebrand? Who?
Darrin Smith? Absent.
That last one was very telling. A few weeks back a city official told me that Chuck is having difficulties dealing with Darrin on his project and traffic flow.

Traffic flow (and parking) should been dealt with long ago before the City publicly signed-off on this project.
My greatest fear is the almost guaranteed tragedy to come from inebriated jay-walking concert goers from the Badlands Pawn who try to navigate across Russell St. late at night to their parked cars at a nearly hotel or the Events Center.
Image back in the day, there being a big announcement about the new Sioux Empire Mall with limited parking requiring many shoppers to cross 41st St. to get to their cars…. I don’t think so….
With all of the new projects in that area of town, public and private, the consideration for parking seems to be off the table – a reality which demonstrates just how profit is dictating our public policy and input with little concern for the common good.
Chuck did say that the only time alcohol would be served at his facility would be during concerts at the concert venue, and that’s it.
Maybe they could have that metalworker out in California design some “Bad Ass” shuttle buses to ship concert goers back and forth from the Events Center parking lot.
You know, shuttle buses with an “Apocalyptic” theme and zombie like looking bus drivers.
But hopefully, many will park north of Badlands in the rather dormant industrial park area. The streets seem rather wide back there and the parking there is seldom used. Perhaps, that is the default plan… a neighborhood which “Works by day and parties by night.”
i saw on the slide show on the argus website, that they are fully stocked up on lawnmowers for the winter.
Darrin Smith was hired as Chancelor of Parking. So far he’s torn down one nearly new garage, not planned enough parking for the airport, not proposed enough parking for the events center, initiated a new parking garage not far from the one torn down, & made no plans for parking at the new Gun Pawn Concert place. He’s failed with the parking title. Maybe focus on the brown nose role as primary Huether ass kisser.
In no time, Darrin will be too busy running for mayor to concern himself with anyone’s parking issues!
Will most voters remember this is the guy who couldn’t handle being on the City Council so he quit and then re-surfaced as a $100,000+ appointee of MMM.
We gotta pick a mayor from a crowd of losers who either voted yes with Huether as councilor or kissed his ass in some other way? Gant or Bosworth have more credibility, ethics, and democratic principles. Council races come first. Even tho many will be replaced, doesn’t matter. They’re just a puppet show that strong mayor sticks his hand up and throws his voice through.
