This is former city finance officer Manfred Szameit and Kenny Anderson Sr. mucking it up. They met working as dry cleaning delivery drivers and later worked together in city government. Kenny was a city commissioner at the time.

Ah! The time when there was no debt and city commissioners could control mayoral spending and fraud. Now, city finance doesn’t report but states we have lots of Monopoly money despite lack of urgent services and a weak bond rating. From that time to half a billion in debt. Yet, our mayor campaigns at city expense for governor and brags about minimum wage job opportunity. It’s better to stay home on county welfare trying to not get falsely arrested or become part of the Huether weekend indigent humans roundup.

But we have indoor tennis if it’s ever open and there’s public baths at odd hours when there’s not Swimfox use. We can afford these things and Denny Dome tickets when we sell our fillings at the council approved Badlands Pawn.

BTW, IF the city is actually interested in managing the pool to its fullest degree of use, the dimensions of the 50 meter length can be cut to two 25 yard pools. So even if the two swim clubs RENT ( for actual $$$) practice time and space, they would get half the pool and the other half would be open for public use.
It should be a win/win unless, of course, chronic butthurt is your goal.
Yes, the pool would be closed on those occasional weekends when swim meets are held. But such is the case in Topeka, Charlotte, Oklahoma City, Lawrence and a host of other cities you may have heard of, and even visited.

Those were the good old days, when the thought of playing soccer or designing soccer fields was considered to be an exotic idea… And fields were named after historical events worth remembering instead of corporations….
