Does the Mayor ever realize that we can hear his comments when citizen’s approach the lectern to speak?
He does not care . All he cares about is buildings and roof tops.I dont understand why the citizens voted this man in office.

Well, Sierra, I tried everything I could to make sure he didn’t get elected. This is what you get when you vote in the VP of Marketing for the worst subprime credit card in the world. But apparently people didn’t see it that way.

People did not see it that way for one reason. Media. Be it the argus, TV, or 24/7 talk radio. Every one of these outlets is now a part of corporate owned news speak. All we’ve gotten for at least two decades now is the corporate message, and mmm is everything corporations live by. No way is this media going to expose mmm for what he really is, and where and how he cut his teeth.
As an aside, the first time I ever heard of mmm was right here on this site several years ago. Didn’t know anything about the guy and didn’t really care one way or the other. Then, thru this blog, I learned mmm was marketing director for the worst fee harvesting credi card scam in the nation. I thought, no way will this crook run this city, based on his record. But that’s not how it works in a corporate owned media.
How do you think a guy like trump will be the standard bearer for the republican party? Look no further than our media. I am of german descent. I used to wrestle with how an intelligent nation of 90 million could fall under hitlers trance. I no longer wonder. I know exactly how it happened.
Prostitution is the oldest profession. It will always be around. Independent prostitutes realize what they’re doing and it’s their prerogative. Trafficing and pimping, unacceptable. Time and energy should be focused here. It seems police have used their limited resources focusing on the slavery aspect. The city health director should be involved because there’s interstate prostitutes. STD prevention is more than just passing out condoms.
David Zokaites is but another case of police harassment. There’s no formal complaint process. No internal affairs officer and nobody home at city personnel. Anytime they’re around, your best defense is a cell phone video for a future civil rights action. We’re not black and can’t play the race card. It’s sad when your taxes are paying for the opposite of protect and serve.

It’s a sophisticated method for the mayor to award projects to his rigged contractors without competitive bids and council approval. Citizens must lose hundreds of millions before this Ponzi Scheme makes it into State or Federal Court.

The weekly bunch of weirdo’s with no life coming to feel important (No, not the council but many are close). The 5 or 6 speakers are the same ones every week…blah, blah, blah. I’m sick of the ‘hotel/motel pimpin’ crap from SB and we are subjected to RK’s weekly rant on the good’ ol days from the broken county commission many years ago! Please, get over yourself and go build a clock. I can’t believe many cities in the country put up with the weekly whiners. If you don’t like um, vote um out. Most of these people need to get a life.
I’d rather listen to wackos than silence from the council when it’s time to enforce checks & balances upon the mayor. Speak up, especially about Construction Manager at Risk. Your life is more than just voting on liquor licenses.

Getting back to the hotel and motel issues,as of today council is working behind the scenes on solutions to the issues at these hotels and motels.Pimping and human trafficking is on the rise in SF.Alot of people is not aware of how bad it is.My speeches to council and to the mayor and with local police is being heard ,and the ball is rolling on these issues.Believe me it was not easy to tackle these issues with council the police and the mayor.Took couple months and alot of conversations and different perspective ideas.
Voices need to be heard at council input meetings. A closed mouth does not get fed.If people need a voice so they can be heard , there is me and advocates/community activists to get the voices heard on issues.
Not sure how long you have lived in SF Sierra, but since I have lived here (1991) prostitution has existed, except it has been ignored by the police. There would be an occasional prostitute arrest, but never a John. A few years ago a well known radio DJ in Sioux Falls helped a lady escape from the trade, and he came down on the SFPD to do something. He really had a go around with them. I think they only reason this has seen the light of day, besides your efforts, is because Kristi Noem pretends she cares about the issue.
Now lets look on positive side and hope changes and progress is going to continue to be made , when we get a new mayor in 2018.

As for disliking him personally, I really don’t think about it. Sure, he is a little odd, but I am to, so I don’t judge him in his personal matters. I am more concerned about his hands in the cookie jar as a public official.
