We are throwing money around like’s it’s candy on all sorts of stuff.

The city council approval of contracts (Item#1) is all about the entertainment. Almost a cool million being spent.

The EC isn’t even 2 years old and we are already buying a new boom lift for it, $89,000. (someone must have missed it on the original bid of the facility like those gaping holes in the siding.)

Then we have another $267,000 for a loading dock and $620,000 for MEP (Mechanical – Electrical -Plumbing) modications at the Pavilion. The building is only 15 years old and it is falling apart at the seems, and it is costing us millions out of the CIP each year. Can’t wait for the EC to turn sweet 15, you think the mortgage payment is expensive?!

And one little last item on the agenda is $20,000 to a private college, Augustana, to do a housing study. None of our public universities were available?

    More spending on Huether country club and private projects. There are public needs this mad money should be used for.
