I always fall back on this song when I lose. Sometimes you can work your hardest at something and you may lose, but it is can always be a lesson, never take it as a negative.

13 Thoughts on “You can’t always get what you want

  1. He said, “He has a calling”….. (Uh-Oh). Now it is up to us to “know what to do”….. (Uh-huh)

  2. Paul was the best candidate and Sioux Falls picked it correctly. He’s going to prove the South DaCola haters wrong.

    J- I hope so. I really do.

  4. “Sioux Falls picked” an attractive and articulate spokesman for the 1%. And just as our departing City Council showed that they care more about some golfers than the death of a construction worker. Sadly, by a significant amount, so did the “Taupe Housing Society of Conformity” tonight…….

l3wis – As you know, my candidate lost in the first election. But given today’s choice, I assure you from my experience, this result is for the best.

Paul is the low rent version of trump and thune and noem…yea, I hope he ends up being wise, kind and open to listening and communicating with a diverse group of people. Based on personal knowledge and the way he has run his candidacy , I highly doubt he will be be a decent mayor. I hope he proves me wrong

His votes were strong in the south part of SF. What a surprise.

  8. TIFS win and there is “blight” everywhere, especially after tonight…..

Its amazing at all the Paul bashing on this site. No candidate is perfect and politics can be nasty business but, I wish people who support Jo would be honest about her flaws. She claims a biotech company when she really just picks up Dog Sh!t and sends it away to get analyzed. Anyone can do that. I like she has her own business but, stop making something its not. She took a voicemail and turned into something its not, sounds pretty low ball to me but, its ok she does this stuff right? If we are going to sit her and talk about Paul being a Christian and how that is bad I know Jo goes to church and I know people who know her and everyone’s take on her is she is entitled and snobby. My 18 year old has had several interactions with her personally and she stated similar interactions with her. I know we can’t talk about that here on this site. So if folks are going to use this kind of information to judge Paul I suggests you do the same for Jo. I have NO personal interaction or know either candidate but, she acted like she was 3 years old with the voicemail stuff and that sealed it for me. No matter how good or bad Paul is, you can’t be mayor if you can’t handle a simple phone call that was NOT a threat. I am so tired of this wimpy mentality that they can’t handle someone else words, its getting old, suck it up.

  10. But it was a threat, because why go there if the “client” controversy was a “nothing burger?” By making the “dirt” comment, he legitimatized the “nothing burger” comment by elevating it to a credible level. Unless, the “dirt” wasn’t credible either, which then only further proves the “dirt” comment to be a threat – whether substantive or not -where its only value comes from it being perceived and intentionally sent as a threat….

Last night, when KELO interviewed him, I could not help but notice that as soon as the report started talking about this controversy during the race, that his eyes started blinking again too…..

I also wonder what other subpoenas to social media groups are still out on this case and whether we will ever hear about the findings?

No way was it a threat! The “tone” said it all and you could hear in the inflection in his voice it was not meant as a threat but, a “come on now” kind of tone. People can try to spin it all they want, reasonable people heard someone reaching out and thought she completely overreacted. This is why its hard to have conversations with Liberal minded people, your too sensitive and everything is about feelings. Maybe that is not your take but, that is what I read and Jo flat out just screwed up and tried to play the sympathy card and people are tired of listening to this whinny poor me attitude. Jo also made a large mistake by churching up her business by making it a biotech company when she picks up dog shit and sends it away to be tested. If that is how you are going spin your business what would expect from her in government. I will be honest I am not a huge fan of TenHakens people he has chosen to surround himself with but, at the end of the day he was just a better candidate than she was. So before you label him this and that, lets give him a shot and hope is better than that dirtball Heauther. If Jo had won I would want her succeed its our city. I would say the same thing if Hillary would have been elected, even though I hated her, we want whats best. Give him a shot and stop making excuses for Jo, she lost on her OWN merits not something others did.

  12. RVSG,

My comments really have “nothing” to do with Jo. I am talking about PTH.

I know you want to make it about Jo. But you are really reaching there…. (Hopefully you are not blinking too…)

Also, isn’t it a logical contradiction to use tonality to make your point and then criticize someone else, or a group, over the issue of feelings?
