The only thing Kristi has publicly said about repaying the city for her private fundraiser security detail is she ‘appreciates the generosity of Sioux Falls’. Awwww, that makes me feel so much better about giving you $20K for your private fundraiser that you pulled in $500K on.
Ironically, Kristi’s silence is funny since a majority of Republicans, some who even supported Trump and Kristi have said the right thing to do is pay back the city, even if the SFPD was Federally mandated to provide security to the President.
I do know that Councilor Stehly has had a followup call to the Noem ‘team’ and they gave her the runaround on it. I think they are hoping this just goes away quietly in the night. Notice SD’s #1 Political Blog (LOL) hasn’t said a peep about it. Usually he would be carrying on and bashing the RINOs in the party like Stehly (which he has taken the liberty to do several times) yet he is mysteriously silent about the issue. “Yes Master Kristi, I won’t say nuthin’ I will be as quiet as a church mouse.”
Maybe Kristi can hire Donald Ross to paint her Royal Portrait.

Reading Teresa’s FB posts about this issue it’s insane to me how some people refuse to set aside their political party of choice to do the right thing. Noem owes the city this money regardless of which side of the fence she’s on. If Trump had appeared at a public event while he was here (like other past Presidents who visited) it’s a different thing. He didn’t. He flew in, made Noem a lot of money, and hit the road.
HAS THE CITY EVER ASKED ANYONE BEFORE KRISTI NOEM TO PAY BACK THE COST OF PROVIDING SECURITY? IF SO, GREAT. IF NOT, WHY NOW?
Mr. Davis, while you make a valid point, I can’t dig up a time when a sitting president came to visit Sioux Falls and ONLY did a private fundraiser while we provided security. If you can find it, more power to you.
She should pay it back and I am a republican (reluctantly). These are issues I wish both sides would get behind and demand accountability. This is why I don’t understand why most Americans are not conservatives (forget part). Govt sucks and the less we have the better. I have NEVER met a Liberal, Libertarian, or Conservative who trusts the govt, so why would we vote for more of what is clearly broken. Oh well,, she needs to pay it back and why make a big spectacle of 22k that can easily be plucked from a number of Rep war chests, come on

Did the Clinton campaign pay the city for Bill’s private fundraising tour? Plenty of overtime was spent that day too. Maybe the United Way should repay the time spent by City employees for the time spent on the forced fundraiser.
As I pointed out above, if you can show me evidence of a sitting or past president who ONLY came to town for a private fundraiser and the SFPD supplied security FREE OF CHARGE, please do. Otherwise this is setting a very dangerous precedent where a candidate for governor can use public resources without repayment.
#8 Get a Hobby, as a media person who attended and recorded several 2016 political events in Sioux Falls, I do not remember a “private” trip by Bill Clinton. I do know he was here and had a public event followed by a private event. If you know of another one please let us know.
I for one would never donate a dime to kristi. the trump clown car was in SF for 2.5 hours. The orange guy talked about himself for 30 minutes. The last 3 minutes he finally mentioned kristi. The last 30 seconds he invited kristi onto the stage. Then puuufff…gone. Matt P. You paid big bucks for this spectacle. Did I miss anything?
