MY HOUSE

Give a drug to people before they enter
so each will see a different place than what is.
It’s a beginning to understanding,
not a solution to relationships.

How the heck is Chuck? I remember Chuck was out for a walk one night and found the Owl’s Nest because Donni was being loud and punk rock in the driveway. Chuck heard him like two blocks away.
That place still cracks me up every time I think about it.

  2. It’s time to get loud and Owly!

It probably didn’t help we lived a 100 feet from a liquor store.

    It didn’t hurt, either.

As my friend Scott said to me once, “Home values should be determined by how close you live to a liquor store.”

That would make my home worth about $250,000.

A friend gave me a copy of Virgin Death when I was in 6th r 7th grade, and I thought.. Gay.. poetry? Pfft.. whatever.. and then I picked it up again in high school and it was as if I’d matured 3 years and could actually understand some of the pieces. Weird.
Fastforward 13 years and I meet Chuck for the first time in the Top Hat bar, and I proceed to drunkenly tell him that he popped my poetry cherry. He insisted that I follow him to his car at last call and he gave me a copy of West of Venus. Chuck is a great guy, and he has the best christmas cards.
