Who is the real phony running for governor?

When are South Dakotans going to freaking wakeup and realize the SD GOP are the real ‘Phonies’. As reported widely by many SD news organizations, the SD GOP’s Lucas Leach decided to attack Scott Heidepreim for being a phony because he drives a nice car or something like that. The hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious. First they attacked Scott for switching parties, living in a mansion and the car he drives. I wonder if they know they have someone in their party that fits that description and he is running for governor, Dave Knudson. To be honest I don’t care about any of this stuff and I don’t support any of the candidates running in either party but I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy.

– Dave switched from Democrat to Republican (I am assuming once he started making the big bucks).

– Dave drives a very nice SUV, not sure what kind it is, but when I saw him in it, I recall it was either a Cadillac Escalade or a Mercedes SUV, not sure, but it was very nice.

– As reported by the Argus Leader last year, Dave lives in a home worth over $600,000, hardly a bungalow.

– He held a $1,000 a plate BBQ fundraiser, doubt many ‘regular folks’ were in attendance.

I’m glad no one from the SD Democratic Party decided to report this stuff, why lower themselves to the ratfink level of the SD GOP. I hope they resist the urge to be no good muckrakers. But I’m not below it.

Why does the Rep. Party want to attach Kundson like this? They had to know the same comparison was going to be made. Is the Party in bed with Daugaard? He seems to be the winner in this mess.

I think Repubs outside of SF, don’t care for Dave. He is a moderate who supports many social issues, such as a smoking ban. I know Pity Pants Pat at DWC has railed on him quite a bit.

Dave doesn’t have the baccking of the party for the big reason that he’s from SF, and the small reason that he’s a moderate.
Instead, we’ll get another Milquetoast candidate like Rounds who will inevitably win because the other candidaite is an eeevil deomcrat.
I’ll still vote for Knudson in the primaries, though. He’s the smartest guy running.

  4. Yes, GoD is correct in that Knudson is not only the smartest guy currently in the race but also being hammered on where he’s from.

I just wish G. Mark Mickelson would get off the bench and run for either Gov. or Rep. He might not make it to DC on his first try against Steph, unless we see a repeat of 1994 and a true “throw all the bums out” movement. But he needs to get in the game.

Dave Knudson is married to De Knudson… honestly – how smart could the guy really be?

I think you’re giving him too much credit.

De’s pretty smart too – just a little batty.

Err… intelligent. That’s a little different from “smart”.

More like full of shit. She says some the craziest bullshit things at the council meetings.

Dave was a disappointment when he wouldn’t do anything about the Investment Council scandal. Imagine losing 80 to90 percent of value, and still giving raises and bonuses to the numbskulls who lost the taxpayer’s money. As far as that goes, the GOP in control of the Legislature didn’t do anything to protect our tax money. So much for fiscal responsibility.
